As We Dream by the Fire: Somewhere, Tx

Rate this book
Somewhere, TX has never seen a blaze like this... Sadie Capshaw moves to Somewhere, TX, fleeing a bad relationship and looking for a new start. But when her well-meaning sister gives her the Christmas Heartbreak List, she is doubtful the nostalgic tasks are really going to help. Who really roasts chestnuts on an open fire these days? Hudson Peters is convinced there is a Christmas Tree arsonist in Somewhere, TX. On stakeout to find the culprit, he sees an open flame in one of the houses on Snob Knob and breaks down the door. Only it's not a criminal that waits on the other side, and his headstrong protective instincts may have just opened a wound that won't close...

What a lovely story about fate connecting you with the one you are supposed to be with. As always this book is about good clean romance with a whole load of laughs. Love the snarky dialogue, it always has me giggling. Really enjoying this series.

ARC provided in exchange for an honest review.

I love all the stories of Somewhere, TX as written by several authors. This one, written by Becca Boyd is no exception. We have Sadie who has chosen to stay at her Uncles home while she gets over being left by her boyfriend. She has a list of items she is to accomplish to help get her over the pain. We also have fireman Hudson, who is on the trail of a xmas tree burning arsonist and accidently runs into a house to put out what he thinks is a burning tree, just to discover it's only a beautiful chestnut roasting girl. To get into what he thought was a fire he breaks down the front door and after discovering his mistake promises to fix said door. Having him around brings out both her anger and mistrust of all men, but also makes her feel safe. Pick up this wonderful short story of coming to terms with one's feelings and learning to trust again. I recommend this book to anyone who loves reading about hunky firemen, the dangers and excitement in their lives and the women who fall in love with them. You need to pick up this story as well as the rest of Becca Boyd's "Line of Fire" Series; you'll end up with a smile on your face and a renewal of human spirit and strength.

I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.

I thought the story was sweet, unfortunately I thought it was short and sweet. While I have not read but two of the books in the series, I thought Fire Away had much more of a plot. This one basically only covered a few days in time, which seems to be way too short of time for all this love to happen.
Hudson is a firefighter in the same firehouse as the guys from the other Line of Fire books. Sadie is staying at one of her uncle’s houses and is trying to get over a broken heart.
Hudson crashes through the door to save Sadie from some roasting chestnuts. Yeah, she didn’t need saving. Hudson was on the lookout for an arsonist and was a little trigger happy, so to speak. Since the story is short, I am not going to go into details about the rest of it. I think it could have been fleshed out a bit with some descriptions of the dates they went on to get to know each other. It ends sort of abruptly with all the guys and their significant others moving Sadie’s stuff in for her when she was out. Kind of a letdown.

I'm a fan of this series and love when I get to visit Somewhere, Texas. This book takes place during the Christmas season. I'm a sucker for a holiday story. It was a nice quick read that can be read in one sitting. At first I didn't know what to make of Sadie. She comes off as a little weird, but she's a delightful character. She's trying to get over a broken heart and she's going to suck up as much of the Christmas spirtit as she can. I knew this was going to be a good book right from the beginning just by the first meeting between Sadie and Hudson. I loved Hudson. The little gestures he does mean the most especially towards someone like Sadie. Over all a delightful story that really brings home the magic of the season.

Step into Somewhere, Texas and the citizens of this small town once again work their way into your heart.

Hudson Peters is a fireman in Somewhere, Texas. With a string of fires being set on Christmas trees he stakes out the neighborhood in hopes of catching the culprit.

What he catches is Sadie Capshaw trying to heal her broken heart.

Sadie has The Christmas Heartbreak List to help her get over her broken heart. When a man breaks down her door the last thing she expected was for him to offer to stay and fix it.

An arsonist and the citizens of Somewhere help Sadie and Hudson figure out what they need most.

I was given this ARC for a honest review.

This was a nice and funny short read, Sadie and Hudson where fun. He thought he was saving her from a fire and she thought he was breaking in lol what a fun way to meet. She was starting new after a bad breakup and he was on the hunt for an arsonist. They bonded after a sleep over in the living as the door was busted and he stayed to protect her.
I did feel like there could've been a bit more with the arsonist story.  Besides from that I enjoyed this read and can't wait to see what happens in the next one.

Sadie is getting over a broken heart with a little help from a Christmas to do list. Hudson is a local firefighter, who is sure there is an arsonist setting Christmas trees on fire. She isn't sure if she should chase him off or keep him close.

These two are cute together and this was a great fast little read. I really enjoyed the note he left her after fixing the door. That was very sweet of him! I was given an arc for an honest review.
