Maxwell Slade has Vanished is a fun, short romance novel. When Maxwell disappears Allison knew in her heart he was still alive, but his wife, Beverly, and twin brother, Manus, are all ready to bury him and take over the business. A few people find this strange since a body was never discovered. Detective David Evans was one person who did not fall for Beverly’s fake tears and Manus’s brave front. He not only found the clue which would lead him to Maxwell, but also a girl who caught his interest.

I enjoy Marcia Carrington’s short novels. I found this one fast and sweet. It wasn’t overly developed, but the mystery of were Maxwell was hidden and would they find him in time was continually on my mind as I read through the pages.

Fun, quick read. If you haven't read a story by this author yet...you are missing out! In this story readers are going to find a suspense ride as Maxwell Slade vanishes. His wife Beverly and twin brother Manus may have a few secrets, nut it is Max's employees, especially Allison who will help police solve this mystery with a bit of a twist. The author does a great job bringing her characters to life and always takes readers on a fun ride with the tales she shares.

I read this short story as part of an arc program. This is the story of the kidnapping of a businessman named Maxwell Slade. Maxwell's wife Beverley learns his car was discovered and the police think he was kidnapped. When she wants Maxwell's twin brother Manus to know, the police call him too. When Beverley and Manus start telling the employees of the company that Maxwell is dead, Maxwell's assistant Allison begins to think they know more than they let on and that Maxwell is still alive. This was a good story. I thought Beverley and Manus were suspicious from the beginning and were rushing to have Maxwell declared dead. Allison was determined to find the truth, even if she put herself in danger.

This fun, quick read starts out right in the thick of the mystery and doesn't let up. We also get some romance with our suspense the characters quickly learn things aren't exactly as they seem and sometimes, the heart wants what the heart wants. Coming in at only about an hour's read time, this entertaining story is perfect for an afternoon or bedtime read that's easily finished in one sitting. It's fast-paced and full of interesting characters - some to love and some that we love to hate, but likable or not, they certainly make for an engaging little read.

Maxwell is missing and his wife Beverly has no idea where he is but the police find his car along side of the road. When his brother Manus comes to console her it gives you a hint that something is wrong, his two employees Allison and Tina feel that there is. As your reading you are pretty sure who the hero will be but you find out soon enough you are probably wrong.

Quick, short, enjoyable story about an entrepreneur who goes missing. Truthfully, there were a few places that I felt could be fleshed out, and more character development needed. Character quality is always my litmus test. I liked Allison, and got a sense of her, but she was the only one I really got to know. It’s hard to write shorter stories, but this author has potential.

This is a cute short story. It has alittle of everything. Kidnapping, cheating, twists and turns with a little romance tossed in.
I received a copy for an honest review.
