If there's one underlying theme to this series, it's probably that happiness takes a while and that sometimes life takes a longer route to get there.
This was such a wonderful book. I'd say it's my favourite of the series, but a) I liked the first, the second and the fourth equally and b) it felt a little too rushed near the end. But it was so well written! And I didn't see the way the plot ended up going coming at all. The best part was, as always, the characters however. And I always like it when it seems natural for a "straight" guy to fall for his male friend. Like, when you 100% feel why he is falling for him, almost falling with him.
I also really like that sort of setting of loosely connected stories. It's just so much fun to see beloved characters again, and even more interesting when it's in different times. It also adds dimension to the story, if done well. And she does it very well.
I also like her use of metaphors, and her way writing in general. She is definitely one of the more "sophisticated" writers of BL, I'd say, and her writing is satisfying on so many levels. I'm happy I now have the doujinshi collections left to read because I really don't want to leave these people.
