Kinda slow and quite philosophical. Not what I expected. Turns out the main character isn't who you think it starts out being. Not bad, but certainly not action packed but definitely thought provoking. I did find it interesting that there was a LOT put into giving the reader definitions of words for each race, timelines for events (for context), a solar system map etc., probably 40 pages or so, which all things considered were really superfluous, left unused and I don't feel it diminished from the book to skip them. It was ok, but I certainly won't be seeking out any other books in a potential series if they exist.
