'A Packet Of Seeds', Ian's sixth book, was published in 2020 and contains fifty-five stories written through his association with three creative writing groups. 'Morsels', Ian's seventh book, came out in 2021, and was all about food. The tales in 'Rhythms', Ian's eighth book, were all inspired by music and musicians. It was published in 2022.

Ian considers himself to have been very fortunate in receiving encouragement from Karen Maitland, the excellent writer of medieval thrillers, following an initial meeting at one of her book readings.
