Written in a smooth rhyming rhythm, this is a fun "read aloud" book for adults to enjoy reading to younger children. The story is brightly illustrated on every page, and the verses are short and simple enough for beginner readers to tackle.

Kids can take P.D. Monkey's latest challenge, by seeing if they can spot "Zog", the alien's pet, who he has hidden on every page. For extra fun, a few simple Alien Puzzles are included after the story.

Melinda Kinsman lives on a small peninsular called The Wirral, in North West England. She loves climbing mountains and rock-climbing (both abroad, and in her local mountains of Snowdonia), and she has always had a soft-spot for cuddly toys!

As Melinda has to lie down a lot each day, due to health issues, she spends most of that time using her iPad to write and illustrate her books. (Drawing can be especially challenging, as she needs to keep the iPad steady by balancing it with one leg up in the air - much to the amusement of her family!)

Melinda originally wrote a book of poems for her 6 year old niece a few years ago, but never dreamt of trying to publish them, or of trying to illustrate them herself. The advent of ebooks and handheld tablets now makes self-publishing an exciting possibility for her!

The Top of the Wardrobe Gang series of books are credited to both Melinda and a motley crew of cuddly toy characters. This bunch of cuddly toys live on the Top of the Wardrobe - they like to call this the "penthouse suite"! They enjoy reading, and want to try writing their own books. Most of the cartoon gang characters are based on "real" members of Melinda's cuddly toy family, though some have had to have their names and appearances changed to allow their inclusion!

You can find out more about Melinda, the gang, and their books from their website at http://topofthewardrobegang.weebly.com

Adorable

Fun little story with perfectly colorful illustrations. We stayed up a few extra minutes at bedtime going back over the images (but don't let that deter you).

‘This spaceship runs on rocks…" – fun in space for curious kids

British author Melinda Kinsman both writes and illustrates her popular children's books from her home on a small peninsula called The Wirral, in North West England. Melinda has to lie down a lot each day, due to health issues, and she spends most of that time using her iPad to write and illustrate her books. That most assuredly does not deter her from composing excellent books that entertain both children and the lucky adults reading to them!

For those who are new to Melinda's series of books, welcome to The Top of the Wardrobe Gang - a team of cuddly toys who write the stories and ideas in this (and other) books. In this Book 4 we join
astronauts when their spaceship lands on the alien's planet. ‘Aliens LOVE astronauts, and here’s the reason why…They find their BOOTS delicious – both as snacks, or in a pie!’ And with that engaging rhyming pattern, this story introduces Zog the dog (with many variations in color, etc) and ‘Hi’ the empty spaceship, and other focal points that add joy to the reading and puzzles to figure out for kids thorough entertainment. As always, Melinda’s books entertain, delight, and provide excellent tools for learning. Recommended.

We Love Astronauts Boots! Yum!!

What an absolutely fun book about Aliens and Robots from Melinda Kinsman. This beginning reader has puzzles in the back. Zog the dog is hiding on every page. The illustrations help the reader believe in aliens. I highly recommend this book for 3-7 year olds for this alien love story.
Aliens find astronauts boots delicious. Grownups like blue ones. Youngsters like red boots. The King and Queen like Silver. Astronauts love rocks. The aliens knockdown the astronauts and take their boots for snacks. What do the astronauts do to get more moon rocks? I smiled when I found out. I think you will too. Happy reading!
Woow!!! I forgot to tell you about the robot. Happy Reading!

I'd always believed that aliens lived on sugared star dust but I've discovered this is incorrect. It's boots. Yes, that's right. Aliens like to munch on astronauts boots!! Anyone planning a trip to Mars, please take note.

I have this startling piece of information because Melinda Kinsman has created a brilliant book for earthlings, 'Aliens love Astronauts.' She has been ably assisted in this by the 'Top of the Wardrobe Gang', a team of talented cuddly toys. P.D Monkey has added an extra layer of enjoyment by hiding a picture of Zog, the aliens pet dog, in each of the irresistibly adorable illustrations. There are extra games at the end and lots of fun with a robot on the way. Hi Hi! (You'll have to read the book...)

Highly recommended for earthling children who are learning to read, 'Aliens love Astronauts' will keep everyone entertained.

Fun, fun and more fun!

My granddaughter just loves this book. She enjoys the story and doing the activities in the back of the book. She really enjoyed "Hi's" adventures. The illustrations are fun and colorful and go along great with the story.

I ( my Granddaughter and I) highly recommend this book to all young readers!
