Koi Baat Hai Teri Baat Main (English: You Have a Point) is a simple story of a few interactions between Waleed and Marium. They meet by chance and affect each other profoundly. While Marium learns an important lesson, Waleed's faith in God and chastity of woman is renewed.
First published in Kiran Digest, it is now available in Main Ne Khuwabon Ka Shajar Dekha Hai.

About the author

Umera Ahmed is one of the most widely-read and popular Urdu fiction novelist and screenplay writer of this era.
She completed her Masters in English Literature from Murray College, Sialkot. Later she became an English language lecturer for the students of O and A levels at Army Public College, Sialkot. However she left the job a few years back in order to devote her full attention to writing.
She began her writing career in 1998 at a quite young age. Her initial stories were published in monthly urdu digests and later came out in the form of books. She has written about 16 books , comprising of complete novels and compilations of short stories. However it was her novel "Peer-e-Kaamil (S.A.W.W)" which became her identity.

On weekend, I found one post where people were debating (accusing) Umaira Ahmad and Nemrah Ahmad for wrongly interpreting the religion and writing about them.
I may not entirely agree or disagree with that. I would like to say, that the one lesson Umaira is trying to convey in this one, is loud and clear. And it holds true, in any religion, and any society.
"Kisi par aitbaar nahi karna, chahe woh solah saal ka ladka ho ya sau saal ka boorha" (Do not trust any man, whether he is a 16 years old boy, or a 100 years old man.

As I said in one of my other reviews, this is one of those books, that I remember for the story and not for the title. Re-read it on Saturday. And loved it again.

I don’t understand why a sensible and religious woman would go to a man’s house daily just to ask for the Quran. No doubt the novel has a great moral but why do she always need to potray the female character weak and insensible

محترمہ نے کہانی کچھ اسطرح لکھی کے ایک لڑکی روز ایک شرابی کے گھر قرآن لینے جاتی ہے، کیونکہ میڈم بہت پابندی سے قرآن پڑھنے والی ہے مگر اسکے پاس خود کا قرآن نہیں ہے۔ تو بھی لڑکا آفر بھی دیتا ہے کے وہ قرآن لے جاۓ اپنے ساتھ جب تک چاہے پڑھے پھر جاتے وقت واپس کر جاۓ، لیکن ظاہر ہے ایسا ہوا تو لوسٹوری آگے کیسے بڑھے گی؟ بہرحال لڑکی یہ کہہ کر منع کر دیتی ہے کہ وہ جہاں مقیم ہے وہ Christians کی جگہ ہے، وہاں الماریاں بھی ہے مگر وہ پاک ہے کی نہیں۔۔۔کیا پتا کیا کیا رکھا ہو وہاں۔۔۔۔ blah blah..۔ اری تو خود کیا ناپاک جگہ رہتی تھی۔ کیا غیر مسلم انسان نہیں ہوتے۔ انہیں اچھوتا کیوں سمجھتی ہے آپ جیسی رائٹرز؟ یہ تربیت تو نہیں ہے ہمارے نبی کی۔ پھر آپ لوگ آخر کب اس تنگ زہنی باہر آئیں گے؟
کیا میں نے بتایا کہ وہ chrisians کی عبادت گاہ تھی؟ 🤔 خیر. لڑکی اپنے اسکول سے آئی ہے شاید کسی پروگرام کیلئے تقریباً دو ہفتوں کیلیۓ۔ اب روز انکا معمول بن جاتا ہے سپارہ لینے دینے کا اور مجھے اس بات کی حیرت ہوئی کہ اتنی نیک لڑکی کی چھٹی حس اس قدر سوئی ہوئی ہے کہ اسے اپنے سامنے کھڑے مرد کے شرابی ہونے کا اندازہ ہی نہیں ہوا جبکہ وہ صاف صاف کہتا بھی ہے کہ اسے وضو کرنے نہیں آتا۔ کیا اسے کبھی یہ محسوس نہیں ہوا کہ سامنے کھڑے مرد میں کچھ غلط ہے؟؟ اوپر سے ہماری نیک لڑکی جب جب ان صاحب کےگھر گئ وہ اکیلے ہی پاۓ گۓ مگر پھر بھی آخر میں لڑکی نے ایسی ایکٹنگ کی کہ اسے تو پتہ ہی نہیں تھا کے گھر پہ کوئی موجود نہیں ہے۔ میں پوچھتی ہوں ارے اندھی تجھے کوئی دکھا تھا کیا؟؟ نہیں نا! تو ظاہر ہے کہ گھر پر کوئ نہیں تھا۔
اور یہ کیا ناٹک لگا رکھا ہے کہ سپارہ الماری سے نکال کے دینا ہی بس تو اس میں بھی وضو۔ مطلب کچھ بھی۔
"مگر آپ تو مسلمان ہے آپ کچھ غلط نہیں کر سکتے" واہ یہ جملہ لڑکی نے لڑکے سے کہا تھا۔ اسکا مطلب کیا وہ ہر مسلمان مرد سے مل لیتی ہے یہ سوچ کر کہ وہ تو کچھ غلط کر ہی نہیں سکتا، کیونکہ وہ تو مسلمان ہے۔ بہت ہنسایا یہاں پہ۔
قرآن کو پانی میں گھول کر پینا یہ سوچ کر کہ وہ شفا دے گا صرف بدعت ہے۔ اور کہانی یہی ہے کہ کیسے ایک دین سے بھٹکا ہوا لڑکا جو عید کی نماز بھی نہیں پڑھتا صرف اس لیے دین کے قریب ہو جاتا ہے کہ ایک کاغذ جس کو پانی میں ڈال کر پینے سے اسے شفا مل گئ🙂۔

All i am seeing on the internet are urdu versions.
