Darnell Baynes and his sons had left their Louisiana farm to escape the carnage of the Civil War. Darnell had raised his boys to shoot fast and work hard and treat a lady with respect. But living day-to-day, never settling down in one place, takes a toll on the strongest of men. And surviving on the frontier is a long, lonely battle...
Most of the stories folks told about the Baynes boys weren't even half true. But it was true they could fight-and fight hard. It was the only way they could stay alive in the lawless West. So when Joe Thackery and his pretty daughter Kit were ambushed by thieves, it was the Baynes Clan who came to their rescue. And when young Ward Baynes fell in love with Kit, he was more than ready to marry her and plant some roots in the rugged Montana Territory. He figured he'd had adventure enough for three men's lifetimes.
But now Kit has been kidnapped. And the Baynes Clan has one more fight to finish...
I read three books in this series many years ago. When I cleaned my books shelves a few weeks ago and found them again and did a re-read. Yep, just as good as they had been.
