Nice easy read for work lunch breaks, very typical of the adult comic style of war novels from the 80's,90's & 0's. Interesting story about a team of German mountain troops attempting to climb a peak in Russia for a Propaganda purposes.

Thinking about books from this author one would say how such things could be published. They are very Mary Sueish plus they are not the top of the literature. Lets say very bottom, but still I like to read them and collect them. This time Kuno (oh Kuno, Kuno you must love this man) von Dodenburg was forced to baby sit group of climbers who were going to plant swastika on Mount Elbrus. Well for propaganda means people died, like always.
So lets summarise Kessler ´s cliché

1. Kuno is the best from the rest our too obvious Mary Sue. He is damsel, which you must love. The shining SS officer with conciousness and super-soldier powers. And yes Kuno gets skirt- always no exception. He is not pansy, but ...well rule 34 anyway.

2. Schultze and Matz BIG TWO aka Kuno´s sidekicks and author other Mary Sue this time in whoring drinking and farting. Bad language and lot of booze. Yes and whores with saucy description of German salami.

3. The ugly superior - always you need some ugly and incompetent superior to plague poor Kuno who is going to die in very gruesome death which serves him good.

4. Lesbians. Book without them is like book without letters. Kessler loves lesbians.

5. The enemy aka you need action and corpses to prove that our boys could kill anything.

6 Hygiene. No no there is none. Who need it anyway. Lice are bonus.

7. Melodrama. Kuno is sometimes sentimental but not often or the books would be unreadable.

8. Sex. I think author has some serious complex about women.

9. Homosexual - gays. They are here and they are evil so beware of them see point 3.

10. Friends. When Kuno befriends somebody, that man is doomed. By doomed I mean flame-thrower and such nice way how tom go to Valhalla. So if you like your life never ever be close to Kuno, that is not rule for Schultze and Matz.

as you can see in those 10 points those books are simply must to read.
