A lovely light and enjoyable read. I picked it up on account of being interested in Jesse after seeing his name as a donor on some interesting items across the British Museum and Science Museum, only to find this book referenced in his intriguing obituaries. If you’re interested in antiques generally, and histories of collecting, this is a delightful read and, if anything, a fantastic insight into an interesting life.
