Another clever picture book by Monique Felix this time illustrating the concept of opposites. Again our hero is buy gnawing away the sides of pages to illustrate this concept, but in this book he has the help of a friend-his opposite: a girl.

One mouse is cute enough, two is better. Using a white mouse on one page, and a brown mouse on the other, the author does some clever things with the concept of opposites. Sometimes they mirror one another in their actions, while on others pages they open a window through the paper to show different ideas like none/many, dark/light, behind/in front, and more. The topic may be about opposing things, but it has one final reminder at the end that no matter how different we are, we also have similarities. As this is a concept book, there is little in terms of story, and furthermore, with it being wordless, it is up to the parent and child to discuss what is happening. The pictures by themselves are entertaining, and the fact that this is one of the best "opposite" books makes this very educational for young children too.

Great book about opposites. At the library today my daughter wanted me to find her another "mouse book". I love the mouse books by M. Felix.
