Couldn't get into it and the three series seemed virtually identical. Character development wasn't sufficient for how much jumping around there was between character perspectives (while done in third person.) I was looking for a light, easy mystery read but this needs more revising.
Worst set of books that I have ever read. Ridiculous, juvenile, and amateurish, doesn’t even begin to describe the plot. And yes, I mean plot, not plots, because every single one has the exact same plot! The characters are all totally one sided and ridiculous. The proofreading is non existent. I stuck it out to the very end and I will give credit where credit is due, in the very last book only ONE character had the incredibly unimaginative and very annoying, alliterate initials. This is one author that I will make a point of never reading again, assuming she wrote more that this one, or three, or ten? Like I said, they are all basically the same story. Heroine has appointment with friend/client. Heroine arrives and sees multiple people, including friend, argue with and possibly threaten someone. That ‘someone’ gets killed. Heroine has perfect alibi (is at ice cream shop, pie shop, bakery, etc) but her friend becomes a suspect. Heroine decides to investigate to clear her friend. Heroine confronts each suspect and learns nothing. Heroine hears an offhand comment like “you can’t judge a book by its cover” and suddenly KNOWS who the killer is. Heroine confronts killer, killer confesses and tries to kill her, police pop out of the shrubbery and make an arrest.

The first three are as far as I could get. The police lineup was a joke. In real life a person who knows nothing about you accuses you of murder and expects no anger or doesn't apologize when she's wrong. If you read the first book, the next two are cookie cutter. The word is boring.
All ten books in this package were the same story with different names for the characters other than the detective decorator. I felt like the auth ok r used a word processor to pull whole lines and paragraphs from one book to the next. Very fast reading but a little boring. Cute romance flows through the detective decorator books.
This cozy mystery series hit the spot. I enjoyed all of these cozy mysteries. Daisy McDare is a talented interior decorator but she's even better at solving mysteries. Daisy is an interesting character. She's tenacious in her pursuit of the murderer and in feeding her sweet tooth. I loved her. She is a charming and humorous. Her sassy dialogue made me laugh and the secondary characters were perfect foils for Daisy. The story was fast paced and well plotted. K.M. Morgan keeps my interest. I enjoyed these quick and entertaining cozies.
Chloe Cook is a great friend which is why she finds herself trying to solve a murder. Who would have guessed that beautiful Cape Cod would be the scene of a murder. Kayla Michelle has written a fast-paced cozy mystery that pulled me right into the story. Chloe Cook is smart, resourceful and determined. She makes a perfect sleuth. There are plenty of suspects and potential motives that I was kept guessing until the very end. The dialogue is great and the hint of romance was pleasant. I enjoyed the humor and the snarky attitude. What a nice way to relax.
Deanna Devlin finds herself investigating a murder. When Deanna's best friend becomes the main suspect, she knows that she has to find the killer. Can she do it? I enjoyed this fast paced, humorous cozy. The characters were likeable. There are plenty of suspects and motives. This well told mystery kept me guessing until the very end. I liked the desert setting and the sharp dialogue. This was a very enjoyable read. I'm looking forward to more books by Bridget Bowman.
When it's cold outside, there's nothing better than curling up on the couch with a cup of cocoa & connecting with a crazy cast of characters!! This set of "cozy" mysteries does not disappoint. While I am only halfway done, the 2 series that I have completed (Chloe Cook & Deanna Devlin) were light-hearted, witty, fun reads with a twist. I especially enjoyed spending last weekend sleuthing in Cape Code with Chloe...made me feel a little like I was tagging along on an episode of Murder She Wrote or in a Hallmark Movie. Both good things in my opinion! I also appreciate the fact that I can finish each of the books in one or two days, because they are fast reads & the story lines are enjoyable & easy to follow.
Can't wait to see what deadly deeds Daisy detects as she decorates...
Some of the stories were pretty entertaining, however, after reading a few, the same lines in each story got kind of irritating and SO predictable. The predictability was also there because cupcakes, chocolate, donuts or pie eating was pretty much in about every other chapter along with the term, " saving my bacon". Too much repetition from story to story. I won't be reading any more of this author's books.
After reading the first few stories, you've basically read the book. Each story is about an amateur sleuth, with an addiction to some kind of dessert, who solves a murder in order to save a friend who is a suspect. Entirely too predictable and could have used a more thorough proofreading.
You get to read this book set, with 3 different characters trying to keep close friends from prison,Chloe Cook, Deanna Devlin & Daisy McDare. All 10 keep you guessing who the murder is. There are a good deal of repetitive phrases in each book. Easy reads, I enjoyed them all.
Very dull, same story setting for first 3 books. The names and motive changed ..Reads like a junior high student wrote this series. I can only hope the writing gets better, but not wasting my time. I would not recommended this series to anyone
the story is very interesting in each book, however it is also very convoluted. daisy lost me more in each book. I don't know if it's because of not being Canadian or just not following the author's train of thought. I did like the set of ten stories.
