Three books + Three brothers = One Boxset! Can you imagine living in a home that is filled with hurt, lies, and fear? Well, that’s what it was like for us. Trapped in a small island town off the West Coast of Florida, for years we watched the tide roll in and out, while keeping so many secrets hidden from the world. Each of us hiding behind a different mask and dealing with our own struggles that ultimately lead us to a breaking point. That expression, “And the truth shall set you free . . .” Well, it did. In the end, it became our choice. With the help of three amazing, beautiful girls we soaked up the drops of rain, endured the starless nights, and woke each day to an unforgettable sun. We are the Hale Brothers: Drew, Beau, and Matt . . . and these are our stories.

A note from the author...
Over ten years ago my husband and I were driving from Chicago to Tampa and somewhere in Kentucky I remember seeing a billboard that was all black with five white words, “I do, therefore I am!” I’m certain that it was a Nike ad, but for me I found this to be completely profound.
Take running for example. Most will say that a runner is someone who runs five days a week and runs under a ten minute mile pace. Well, I can tell you that I never run five days a week and on my best days my pace is an eleven minute mile. I have run quite a few half marathons and one full marathon. No matter what anyone says, I am a runner. I do, therefore I am.
I’ve taken this same thought and applied it to so many areas of my life: cooking, gardening, quilting, and yes…writing.
I may not be culinary trained, but I love to cook and my family and friends loves to eat my food. I cook, therefore I am a chef!
My thumb is not black. I love to grow herbs, tomatoes, roses, and lavender. I garden, therefore I am a gardener!
I love beautiful fabrics and I can follow a pattern. My triangles may not line up perfectly…but who cares, my quilts are still beautiful when they are finished. I quilt, therefore I am a quilter.
I have been writing my entire life. It is my husband who finally said, “Who cares if people like your books or not? If you enjoy writing them and you love your stories…then write them.” He has always been my biggest fan and he was right. Being a writer has always been my dream and what I said I wanted to be when I grew up.
So, I’ve told you who I am and what I love to do…now I’m going to tell you the why.
I have two boys that are three years a part. My husband and I want to instill in them adventure, courage, and passion. We don’t expect them to be perfect at things, we just want them to try and do. It’s not about winning the race, it’s about showing up in the first place. We don’t want them to be discouraged by society stereotypes, we want them to embrace who they are and what they love. After all, we only get one life.
In the end, they won’t care how many books I actually sell…all that matters to them is that I said I was going to do it, I did it, and I have loved every minute of it.
Find something that you love and tell yourself, “I do, therefore I am.”
I beg of you to stop what you are doing and get to reading this series, I only wish I had found Kathryn's writing much sooner, 'cause for future reads I will be making a point to be sure if she has out a new book??! ...I am a new found reader of Kathryn's ... I won this book in a giveaway and let me tell ya this series is so so so so ... YOU THINK I CAN NARROW A BOOK SERIES (no yelling, just saying with lots of love and appreciation for this series) down into one word? (How do other reviewers do that? It is near impossible!!!) YOU gotta be silly crazy!! There are so many emotions ... sad, happy, great, low, depressed, tattoos, stars, moon, fire, beach, running, dancing, ocean, tennis, exercise, such raw emotions, loving, supportive, helpful, kind, strong, empathetic, ... up and downs ... this Hale family wow wee!! Where do I beginning? Now which book do I love more ... "Drops Of Rain", "Starless Nights" or Unforgettable Sun"? Can't do it... you know I started book 2 ... and then when I started book 3 ... I thought there is no way in heck I can pick a fave? But what I can say is that I can only imagine having a brotherhood likes these 3 men??! (I love my older brother, we have grown to an understanding as we have gotten older, as a kid he would pick on me like crazy. Now I think we would have each others back no matter what!! Now that is family. love and respect.) Drew, Beau, Matt are so so lucky to have each other, they are like 1 backbone but 3 different men. Through all situations they are there for each other, blood is totally thicker than water here. Another thought, when did BOOKS get so heavy ... I normally read on my kindle and this 3 book all together, if you threw it at some one OUCH!! it weighs a ton at least!! Great for working out your muscles!! Such a fan, please read. LOVED IT!! Must read. Such a fan!! I think this series deserves so so many more stars than 5!!! LOVED IT!! ( ;
I bought this series on a whim. I saw it floating around on Amazon and thought why not? I started reading this series on my break at work and ended up sneaking around to read it. This series had me at its cover and Title and didn't let me go until 5 AM the next morning.
This is my first book/series by this author. It’s refreshing to read a wonderful story that just flows from excellent writing, storytelling and editing. All three books are great!
Drops of Rain – This is the story of Drew and Ali. Both are seniors in high school. I was hesitant to read about this age group thinking there is no way they will survive the long haul of a relationship being this young. They are both way much older than a number with all they have survived and what they go through their senior year together and over come. It’s a slow build up of trust, seeing there is more to the other person than what is behind a beautiful body or face. Bringing out the best in each other. He is a swimmer and she moves across country with her dad to a new school. This book tackles the loss of a parent, domestic violence and bullying. I highly recommend reading it and it’s a definite 5 star rating book.
Starless Night – The Story of Beau and Leila. Beau is Drews younger brother from Book one of the series Drops of Rain. This is another wonderfully written book by this author. We get a lot of back-story on Beau and Leila with some overlaps from book one from their perspective. They are both living in New York going to school, he playing Tennis for Columbia and she is going to design school. This book is mostly about misunderstandings or lack of knowledge of things that happened to both of them in the past and coming together for a future. It has a wonderful lead in to Matt’s story that fills you in on Drew and Beaus life as he reach’s 21. Highly recommend! Another 5 Star book!
Unforgettable Sun – This is the youngest brother Matt’s story. This book really comes full circle and brings them all back to the beach. Elle is a super model who is running from her career in NY and all of its repercussions. She moves in next door to Matt. They once knew each other as teenagers as she is also from Florida and is a couple of years older than him. He has lead a very lonely, quiet and solitary life up until this point trying to come to terms with all he has lived through. The story reveals all of his past and has a surprising twist. It keeps you up on the other brothers and they all get their HEA. I cannot recommend this series enough! Great storyline that draws you in from the beginning! 5 Stars!!
The Hale Brothers Series is one of the best series I have ever read. I loved each and every one of these books so much, and I know that I will never forget what it was like to experience them and everything that these books, these characters, and their stories gave me. Each book has its own unique, consuming, and all-feeling story, while weaving together the story of three brothers who completely stole my heart right from the start.
The Hale Brothers Series lets you meet and fall in love with Drew, Beau, and Matt as they all try to face the darkness and pain that surrounds them. Each of them have their own troubles and worries and secrets, and each goes on a journey of hope and healing and mesmerizing fight in their story as they try with all their might to end up in the exact place they want and deserve to be. With the help of some amazing and unforgettable leading ladies who stole my heart just as much, these brothers go about seeing through the rain, fighting through those dark nights, and in search of that so desired sun.
These books have the best level of varied and thoughtfully crafted emotion weaving through every page. You don't just read these books, you feel every ounce and moment of them. Kathryn Andrews' breathtakingly beautiful writing brings it all to life in the most enrapturing and all-feeling ways. She gave me every bit of these characters, she let me experience their stories so fully, and in the end I was blown away by everything these series gave me! Like I said, this is one of the best series I have ever read, and they gave me one of the most fulfilling reading experiences I've ever had.
These books are must reads!! You will love them, and feel them, and in the end you'll be beyond glad that you read them. Trust me! You need to read these books!! They are amazing!!
I downloaded the bundle not realizing I have read these before. Needless to say once I started and realized I had read them I couldn't stop. Just as good the second time around and a definite must read. These stories are heartfelt and sweet with the perfect amount of tragedy and angst. The author has a great writing style that flows easy and makes the whole experience perfect.
Drops of Rain: This is the first in The Hale brother trilogy and man what a way to break out of the gate on this one! This is Drew Hale and Ali Rain's story and it is beautiful, horrifying, angst filled, tumultuous and enthralling. The lives of the main characters in this book could have broken a lot of people but for the H/h it helped make them stronger. The secondary characters in this book are also very interesting and I wish that some of them will get their own story (i.e. Grant, Chase, Ryan). I could not stop reading this story!!
Starless Nights: This is the second in The Hale brother trilogy and it's about Beau and Leila. I was both surprised yet not surprised that they were the main couple in this story. After reading about Beau's character in the first story I never would have pictured him the same way he is in this story. His secrets and his feelings were emotionally gut-wrenching and I wanted to absolutely beat and break his "dad" every time he was mentioned and I wanted to hurt his mom at the same time. While feeling like this I also wanted to reach out and grab him and just hold him in my arms and tell him that he was special and he was loved. Leila, smh, this girl, at times I wanted to smack her upside the head and say to her "Look what's in front of you! Talk to him!!! Ask him why!! Be there for him!" And I wanted to say the same to him as well just without the smack! The fact that he knew that he wanted to be with Leila ( and she with him!) since he was only 8 (EIGHT!!!!!) years old is both beautiful and amazing. They were true soulmates but their path to the ever fated "Happy Ending" was not easy and filled with twists turns and as many bumps in the road as possible. Again you get to meet some secondary characters that I hope to hear more about in the future (i.e. Nate, Camille and god love him Charlie!!)
Unforgettable Sun: Finally we get to the final story. This is about my Matt (at this point he is my Matt!). He is the "baby" of the family and I feel like he was the most hurt mentally and emotionally. He was never shown true parental love and affection until he was a little older and then he get it from his big brother Beau and Aunt Ella and Uncle Ben (no blood relation at all!). Kids are meant to cry and laugh and play and talk your ear off and that is also when they learn how to form relationships with other people (i.e. Friends, girlfriend things like that) and Matt couldn't do that. He was emotionally shut off from almost everyone except his brothers, Aunt Ella and Uncle Ben and then by his brothers girlfriends. I was so happy that he started to feel a connection to Ellie that I wanted to jump for joy and do a happy dance. Then as with most emotionally abused people when things start to feel to good then you have to push it away because you just don't feel like you deserve it. Ellie is in a similar boat with Matty yet it's also completely different. I was very happy to hear that a person in Matty's life that he thought about and thought didn't want anything to do with him really didn't feel that way (I won't say anything more cuz I don't want to spoil it for you!). In this story you get to meet Matty's only "real" friend Davy and again I'd love to hear more about him as well.
I'd you like to read and feel like your on an emotional roller coaster then I would 100% recommend this book to you. BUT! If you don't like hot, funny, amazing yet also tortured guys who have equally amazingly talented girlfriends and some funny situations/adventures thrown in then you should definitely not (not!! Lol) read this book.
Oh I can't say enough about this amazing author. This box set contains 3 books about the Hale Brothers. Drew Beau and Matt each have their own story overcoming the most horrific abuse both verbal and physical at the hands of their father. Each finds a way out of the darkness and self doubt he put in their minds and in turn they help a special girl in their own way overcome her sadness, doubts and hesitation in life. Each book touches on their past and moving forward. Beautiful progression with some amazing brothers and even more beautiful women. Love this series so much!!
Just re-read these for the 100th time.. still heartfelt.. still emotional.. still sweet.. the same words that get me every time.. I love these characters I feel like I learn more about them each tome.. I love being welcome into their lives even tho they are fictional.. I love their love.. I just.. love this series more and more..
This box set was amazing. Each Hale brother's story was addicting and I could not put down. Now that I have finished Drew's, Beau's and Matt's story I don't know what to do with myself. I am really going to miss these characters. The author did an amazing job and I can not wait for more!
Love this series. These brothers have each others back in bad situation with an abusive father. Love that they can hold on for each other and keep each other safe.
