Conflicting emotions and agendas collide in a lakeside community, where a construction project is the catalyst for a series of mysterious incidents. A small tribe of Native Americans wants to rebuild its ancestral village on prime waterfront property. But serious opposition is scrambling to stop the neighboring landowners, a ruthless construction company, an ambitious developer with deep pockets, a charismatic minister, and even a festering splinter group within the tribe. Escalating acts of brutality drive project leader Cassee Chinnel to call for help from Sin Austen, owner of a worldwide soldier-for-hire security service. Sin tries to balance volatile girlfriend Kelli with smoldering love interest Cassee, while attempting to identify and neutralize the source of the destructive rampage. A final showdown leads to a stunning revelation from the one known as Devil Feather. For fans of "The Last Raven", this is the sequel you have been waiting for. Once again the setting is Lake Keowee in South Carolina. Returning characters include Deputy Howie Hagood, Trooper, Barbara Dancing Deer, Barnaby, the Ironsides field team, and Boomer the giant schnauzer. Let the mayhem begin.
I enjoyed this book because Native Americans were involved in it. A group of tribes had an idea to build a place to show off their Native history in the center of some of their land. Some close neighbors of their complained no they didn't want it built , to much noise and traffic affecting they live stock and crops. Another group wanted to stop the Native Americans from building a casino close by. Last their was another group of people who wanted to build houses in a development . So whose gonna win what gets built to make everyone happy. But then work areas were destroyed and people hurt . Who was doing this and why and how. The end has a lot of surprises in store .
