This is another book that would be awesome to have in the reference section of a library for classroom teachers to use each year. Different students come into classrooms each year with different disabilities. It isn't just the special education teacher's job to educate these students. They spend the majority of their day with us, and we need to know how to service them to meet their needs. This book helps explain different disabilities and what you can do for the students to help make them successful.
This book took me a long time to read, as I just hit it in fits and spurts. It does have a lot of good information, and I liked all the specific classroom stories, but it was all set in elementary, and I am a high school teacher. I'm sure I'l reference it again though.
A quick read and a must read for all teachers. It gives a great overview of special needs and highlights that all children are not cookie cutter perfect!
