I read this book hoping to get some perspective into the minds of those who believe the gold standard to be superior to fiat currency. In this I was disappointed. The writers all clearly believed that whoever read these essays would already have knowledge of detailed arguments pro and con, and would have already decided that fiat currency was deeply flawed. Nevertheless I was able to glean some insight and so I don't consider reading this book time wasted. If you are interested in this book and want to save some time, I would recommend skipping the first essay by Rothbard and the last essay by Ron Paul as they are definitely more doctrinaire and lacking in content than the other essays.

It is a collection of essays on the gold standard. The authors describe different versions of the gold standard and present a proposal to the transition to gold monetary system. Also they fend off criticism of opponents of the gold standard.

Jest to zbiór esejów o standardzie złota. Autorzy opisują różne wersje standardów złota oraz przedstawiają propozycję przejścia na złoty system pieniężny. Odpierają także krytykę przeciwników standardu złota.
