Four Rooms: Four Friends Telling Four Stories Making One Film

Rate this book
The new Miramax Film Four Rooms marks the rapid ascent of four immensely talented writer-directors: Allison Anders, Alexandre Rockwell, Robert Rodriguez, and Quentin Tarantino.

Here, each of them write and direct a segment of the nightmare that is Ted the bellhop's first night at the front desk. He's caught in a comedic maze, careening from a coven of witches to a couple with psychosex on their minds and firearms at the ready. Then he's off to babysit a threatening gangster's rambunctious kids. And finally he winds up arbitrating one of the strangest bets ever made with a cleaver.

I read this and I thought that it was average. When I saw the film, I was horrified. Granted, the script wasn't all that great, but I had no idea that the actual film would turn out to be the steaming pile that it was.

Another solid quotable flick see Jennifer Beals's soliloquy.
