For years, the myth of traditional thinking was that creating high morale resulted in high performance. Think again! Authors Rick Tate and Dr. Julie White destroy this myth and provide managers practical, applied methods, skills, and concepts that come directly from over 30 years of research in organizational effectiveness, not from some new management "avor of the month." Great read. Sometimes hard format to follow and can be dry at times, but many hidden gems. Loved the notes nestled within the pages and the flow was good. Would recommend to anybody in a 1st line manager role or any analyst looking to better understand why leaders take certain actions.

One of the best books I've read on management. Most times it seems like common sense of how important clarification in communication is and this book spells it out. One huge take a walk for me was the "condition vs. problem" analogy which states: Performance issues are a condition and not a problem. It's like diabetes that must be actively managed and not a broken bone that is wrapped up once.
