Scary Stories to Read When It's Dark is at times scary and at other times funny. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and had a lot of fun retelling some of the stories to my family. People who like short stories and aren't afraid of a little spookiness will enjoy this book.

An anthology of scary stories that have an urban legend feel. Definitely for older kids to read themselves, maybe 4th graders or so. But will appeal to younger ones that like a safe scare read by an adult.

This was a compilation book of 'scary' short stories by various authors. This included one by Alvin Schwartz, who wrote the Scary Storis to Tell in the Dark series. That series was listed on the ALA's 2012 most frequently challenged books list. So I figured I'd give this book a go too!
