Dangerous Legacy
In the light of reduced world military tension, the United States and New Zealand move to reinstate the ANZUS Agreement and allow US Navy visits. But they inadvertently encounter a nuclear plot initiated decades ago by Soviet Premier Nikita Khrushchev. If successful, tens of thousands of people will die and the U.S. will lose the trust of its allies. A dynamic, plot driven thriller.

I really enjoyed reading this book.

This story begins in the 1960's when a few Russian leaders decide to hide some nuclear weapons to be ready to use whenever they felt they had opportunity to cause an "accident". All but one person in on it dies before they can be used. After the Gulf War in 1991 the last person decides that this is the best time to use the weapons. He sells them to a leader in Saudi Arabia who use the first to make it look like the US had a nuclear accident near New Zealand which causes problems with trust from other nations This forces the US to pull out of the Gulf and allows this leader to attack Kuwait again. The US tracks down the truth and finds the other weapons before they can be used again. This book got confusing at times. It bounced around between too many characters and locations. I liked the story line about the terrorists and nuclear weapons, but didn't feel like the LDS conversations/storyline really fit in to the story.
