This is a great book, quite mathematical and of typical German style which I really really enjoy, than those wordy books. This is not a book to just read, you need to work on, if you enjoy the math, it's the way to go. Also I'm not sure, if you haven't had any QM course before, it might be bit difficult.

What I like so much of this book is, it uses the same notations as in QM, and statistical mechanics is described with Quantum Mechanical approach, which is not quite the usual way. I really loved this book, and i even bought it.
