Am I just attracted to a woman I can’t have? Or is Olivia the one who has the power to bring me to my knees once and for all?
Our singer Alex landed our band on every major gossip tabloid and website with his crazy antics. Now, we’re tasked with running an insane amount of press to run damage control with the hopes of cleaning up our image.
So when this chick Olivia Grant showed up—representing yet another magazine—I expected to hear the same lazy questions we’d been getting for months.
Man, was I wrong. Not only was she way smarter than anyone else we’d talked to in the press, but she caught me off guard—somehow she was able to resist my charms, and I gotta tell you, you could smell and taste the electricity and sexual tension between us.
One night after a few rounds of drinks, we found ourselves alone together. Before we knew, it we dismantled every bit of resistance and doubt and were fully committed to being absolutely consumed by a night of pure debauchery and pleasure.
I’ve never been the long-term relationship type, but for sex this absolutely mind-blowing and life changing, I’m willing to compromise—but how do I convince her that she’s different than all the others and that she alone is my addiction?
***This is the second book of the Hard Rock Star Series. Each book within this series is a standalone and may be read in any order.***
Book 1: North Book 2: Nick Book 3: Julian (Coming Spring 2016!)
This book is intended for readers age 18 and over. It contains mature situations and language that may be objectionable to some readers.
Jade Allen writes hot contemporary romance featuring irresistibly sexy rock stars and filthy-mouthed bad boys that will set your eReader ablaze. When she's not writing, you can find her eating Vietnamese food (the spicier, the better!) and drinking copious amounts of cappuccino. Jade lives in Manhattan with her cat, Sydney, and her long time beau.

I'm always game for a rocker romance and I was stoked on this series, BUT what didn't work for me was the story ending at the 25 percent mark and finding the rest of the book filled with other stories I didn't care about. It was exacerbated by the fact that the second book had huge overlap of the same extra stories as the first one. I have griped many times about these 'novellas' (some are more like term papers in length) that ask us for our hard earned money for what we think is 200+ pages, but we find that what we get is a 50-60 page story with bait 'n' switch for another 150 pages. After experiencing it twice, I'm not so inclined to follow this series; even if it's a publisher thing and not something encouraged by the author. It feels as though there is a lot of this going on and I'm obviously a tad disgruntled about it. It's a problem for authors who really want to tell their story but are being messed about by corporate greed. If it is an author thing, then maybe some authors might want to step back and revisit their approach. Selling me what amounts to a term paper is kind of insulting. And readers are paying attention.
Nick is a rock star and used to getting what he wants. What he wants now is Olivia. Olivia is trying to do her job as a music reporter and the last thing she needs is a rock star interfering with her work. Nick was not a bad guy, I just hate when people put their own satisfaction above that of the other character. Olivia didn't want to look bad in front of her colleagues by getting involved with Nick but Nick didn't care. Even though he was nice, I think he should have had more respect for her feelings. Overall this was a nice listen. I liked Olivia and Nick as a couple and the resolution to the story was a good one. The narrator D.C. Cole did a good job as the narrator and I look forward to more of his work.
Nick is quick smooth listen. The Hard Rock Series is great for young adult readers, as well as, old rock ‘n roll band member and roadies. Judging from the first 2 books, The Hard Rock Series books are rated R for the sexual language and detailed intimacy; I would not suggest listening to these books with kids in the car.
The narrator did a great job. Overall, a strong 4 Boundless Star book....Beth
He's the guy that could take his pick of girls at any venue. However, she said no, and he didn't know how to deal with that, especially when he felt she was in to him as much as he was her. What happens, well that's where you have to read the details, as the author intended. It's a good read, very hot in places.
A fun, swoony and scorchingly HOT story!! My only qualm about this book (and the whole) series is that the stories aren't long enough!! I am always left wanting to read more about the couple! Jade Allen's narrative is highly addictive and fast paced! I love it when the heroine can tame a bad boy, manwhore rocker like Nick!
***Listened to the Audiobook*** This is a quick hot and sexy listen! Nick is one of the bad boys of Molly Riot, one of the most successful bands in the Miami area. They have partied hard and had women in every city. When their lead singer Alex falls in love and settles down, it is hard to adjust to the new band dynamics. But when Olivia Grant interviews the band, she is smart, funny, and seemingly immune to Nick's charms. Nick can't stop thinking about her and will do anything to spend more time with her. He sees how happy Alex is and wants that for himself. But Olivia doesn't think she can trust a player like Nick. When offered an opportunity to travel with the bad on tour she is afraid people will think she was offered this opportunity only because of who she sleeps with. Nick is determined to win her over and prove she is more than a fling. This is a fast, hot, and intriguing continuation on the life of the Bad Boys Of Molly Riot. It is fun getting to know these rock stars and the women who love them a little more. The narrator has a very smooth voice that I enjoy most of the time. There were several times that I wasn't sure who was talking because the voice didn't immediately change from one character to the next. It is only fleeting until it morphs to another inflection. That said, he is a wonderful storyteller and I could get lost in his performance. I am looking forward to reading/listening to Julian's story next!
This series is nothing short of a good time. The story is of Nick, another of Molly Riot's band members who falls for journalist, Olivia. She is beautiful, smart, funny and able to keep up with all the guys in the band. She immediately attracts Nick, and he is now on a mission to get to know her better. Olivia does not want to be another woman to add to Nick's total. She has a one night stand with him, much against her better judgement and is determined not to continue. Nick gets her to be the journalist for the band's tour, and now things really heat up. Can Olivia and Nick go the distance? The band is betting on them...but you won't know unless you read the book. It's fun, well developed plot and characters and hot sex! I love that it intertwines characters from the first book. While a stand alone, it's best to read the first one to have the background on Alex and Mary.
DC Cole...what a voice. It's the perfect gravelly mixture of sensuality and sex. He performs this series incredibly.

Nick, the male lead, is used to the rock star life and the fast girl groupie types, so basically, he is not into relationships.
Now enters Olivia, the female lead, she is there to do an interview on the band for a magazine and she is not at all what Nick expects.
Olivia is determined not to be another notch on Nick's belt.
He and the other band members enjoy her style of interviewing. Nick likes being with her so much, he finds himself wanting to just hang and get to know her better.
The band wants her to join them on the tour bus for the next six months while they tour.
She accepts yet she is very cautious around Nick because she is starting to have feelings for him.
Things get interesting and heat up.
This is a standalone story but more background is provided if the first book is read.
D. C. Cole did a really good job with the narration.

I think this was a fast little listen. It was cute and had funny little parts. I don't know how I felt about the narrator, I was on the fence with him. He almost sounded like a mix of a surfer jazz man. It threw me off when he did the different characters in the band. He almost swayed a little too far to the surfer/stoner side.
Since I was unable to connect with the narrator, it made it a little hard for me to connect with the story. I did like that Olivia knew who he was and his reputation but yet still dove right in to get what she wanted. Though it was a little over used hearing her tell him how he was going to leave or end it. However, he was the ultimate player/bad boy when this started. I think this may have been a better book in paper format.
I totally read this story straight through. It's a short story so, it wasn't difficult.
I'd never read anything by this author. It was offered as an ARC. And, I was sort of skeptical. I listened to the sample and the narrators voice and delivery tipped the scales and I took a chance. I'm always looking for new authors. And, WOW! I really liked this book. It was a little gritty, but not too much. Characters were well developed. And, honestly, for a short story, it was pretty darn complete. Of course I would love for it to be longer, but it wasn't because the story was lacking and needing more development, which happens too often in short stories. And, the narrator?! D.C. Cole was fantastic. It was definitely a perfect marriage of a good story and a good narrator. I rarely give out 5 stars but have given out 2 today.
Ms. Allen must enjoy writing short stories that make a reader believe that this too can happen in real life.
In Nick you have a love and leave em member of the band that is honest enough with himself to know that he is jealous of his band member who is now in a relationship.
He is also honest enough to recognize that he may not have what it takes to give up the variety of women he has indulged with in the past. He wonders if there is a woman out there to make him change his ways.
The book Nick follows the story of North these books are standalone but if you enjoy quick reads these are the books to pick up. They are good reading for when you have a doctor's appoint or waiting on a train.
Ok again we need to take a moment with this narrator. He is fast becoming a favorite, that voice I swear.
I very much enjoyed book 1 and book 2 is just as interesting. Nick pretty much falls for Olivia when he meets her. And he is not the kind to fall. She is hesitant because of her job.
But you can’t deny the attraction between these two. But its more than that she meshes with the band so well. And that can’t be easy.
I want more, more, more. Both from the author and from the narrator… Sigh yeah the narrator. ;)

Super sweet story of the professed playboy being whacked in the head by love. Nick was sexy & could get laid in a heartbeat. In walks Olivia to throw him for a loop. He has to work for her attention and grows to miss it when it's gone. Great sexy read!
Nick is your typical typecast rocker.....party hard and bag as many chicks as possible. Then he meets Olivia who is there to interview the guys for her magazine article. He not only gets her in bed but gets her hired on the tour bus to chronicle the tour. Bets are on that she'll kick him to the curb and how long it'll take. Despite all odds, they fall in love.
