This book gives all the color and truth and the nobility of the Constitutional Convention. It also tells of the need for a better government than was offered by the Articles of Confederation, of the triumph of reason over fear and pettiness in the secrecy of the convention hall, of the surprise of the people at the Convention's outcome, and how the States, one by one, fell into line to accept it.
While this book is a bit dated in that it refers to the 1960s as present day, I found reading this book to be very valuable. Students today do not read the details American history. This book provided the details of the writing of the Constitution in 1787.
