'Where Does Dinner Come From?' is the first in a series of children's books that celebrate a plant based lifestyle. This series aims to encourage and inspire vegan and non vegan families to be mindful of where our food comes from. Recipes for the meal prepared in the book is included.

I love the concept of the book, but to me, it fails at its basic task of being of interest to young kids. A young girl (I LOVE the drawings of her) watches her mom make dinner and asks where the food comes from. In this case, it's basically the farmer's market, which seems unrealistic but OK, I get it. And everything is "non-GMO and pesticide free," which are "baddies." Why? I agree generally but the child is just being given buzzwords to judge things as good/bad and not learning why. And nothing's fun that a child reading this book with a parent would get to shout out. It just didn't work for me and seems something like one parent would give another but that a child would be bored by it. Includes recipes for salad dressing, kale salad, and quinoa & black beans.
