What the Bible Really Says

Rate this book
What does the Bible really say about capital punishment, government, the future, marriage and divorce, miracles, segregation and intolerance, slavery, war, wealth, women and the world? While literalist Christians insist that the Bible supplies all the anwers for today's ethical and social questions and liberals claims that the Bible can hardly be understood without the aid of advanced criticism, this collection shows that "what the Bible says is far more important than what its interpreters say". The Bible's position is quite clear - and clearly contradictory - on many issues. This book consists of views from around the world, on what the Bible really says.

A very good, very clear book about the plain meaning of common concepts displayed in both the Old and New Testament. After much study of the Bible, this book is unique among guides. Neither shrill in liberal denunciation nor dogmatic, this slim volume does what so many cannot summarize concepts plainly and briefly while demonstrating usage in passages. Well done. Recommended.

...about capital punishment, government, marriage, miracles, segregation, slavery, war, wealth, women, and the world. A sensibility of a distant world.
