Every smarty pants like me loves such sources of random knowledge. You'll be highly entertained and fascinated to discover all these cultural, historic, geographic, biological, ... facets of this beautiful region. One of two books to be read when visiting the Lake District (The other being The Silent Traveller In Lakeland by Chiang Ye)!
