After Joey’s birth, a grieving and exhausted Alison flees to the sanctuary of Sea View House in the coastal town of Pilgrim Cove. It’s a small town. A safe town. A quiet town. So inviting that she decides to move there, raise her son and bury the guilt that haunts her.
She hadn’t counted on…
Mike Romano, the ex-jock who lives across the street. Once a pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, he was cut from the team due to injury. Now he owns a thriving landscape and design center. He can’t understand Alison walking away from her cello and a major philharmonic orchestra. The dream of a lifetime. He also can’t believe that this gentle and loving woman wants a solitary life forever.
Determined to earn the trust of his attractive neighbor, he’ll stop at nothing to make her smile. Dinners. Babysitting. Flowers for her garden. As for being a volunteer firefighter…he’d always been willing to take that risk. But can he overcome Alison’s fears of being burned twice and accept his unpaid work as part of small town living?
Is the magic of Sea View House strong enough to turn broken dreams into a dream that can last forever?

This year, Linda is publishing her first women's fiction novel. Family Interrupted will be available in the spring of 2013.
I absolutely adored this trilogy as well as the Pilgrim Cove series before it. I flew through all of the books in a matter of a week. However, this is by far my favorite of the bunch. It was an excellent ending revisiting all of the previous stories in the eyes of the current couple in the making. I also really enjoyed that this particular love story went on behind the scenes through the time of all of the other books and was a brilliant journey through grief to continuing to live and love after the pain.
I read the four books in the Pilgrim Cove Series and now the 3 books of the Sea View House Series in under 2 weeks. Each book is a stand alone but together the story is powerful as are the characters found within the pages. Thank you, Linda Barrett, for your wonderful words (this book contained many inspiring words which embraced real life events).
When brokenhearted Allison arrived in Pilgrim Cove she wanted only to talk herself and her baby Joey into a quiet, private life. She had come to Pilgrim Cove to Sea View House after her police officer husband was killed In the mind of duty. She and son Joey spent a month at Sea View House that summer and decided to return for an indefinite period of time. Little did she know, Sea View House had worked its magic… Across the street from her new, albeit temporary home, With the baseball pitcher, forced into retirement do you to a rotator cuff injury. Mike Romano had returned to his hometown, Pilgrim Cove, to decide what next to do with his life. Then he met the redheaded Allison who lived across the street from his father. As for their future, Sea View house had worked its magic.
Mike Re-ignites Alison' s Love! 3.25***** Spoiler Alert
Mike, returned home as a 28yr old, injured baseball player and went to work in his dad, Paul Romano' s hardware store. Bart Q, from the ROMEOs, matched him with Alison, a symphony violinist on 'sabbatical', who recently lost her law enforcement husband. With her baby Joey, and Mike's dog, Sophie, Mike became the flame to melt her heart and the new step-dad for Joey. Ali had to overcome Mike's part-time volunteer fire job when he saved her house and her precious violin, whilst Mike got Jason Parker, famous JJ Parks, to use her in the Boston Marathon musical dedication.
Okay storyline and old characters from earlier novel's made debut appearances, but the climatic ending was a flatten curve. Yes, another HEA in a diversity- deprived community. Meh!!

I really enjoyed this whole series. This is the last book of seven. Each book is a stand alone, you do not need to read them all. However they do flow from one to the next if you choose to read them all. The entire series is well written. They deal with issues that come up in life and all have very positive messages. The common thread is family, community and kindness! People helping and taking care of each other. They were a very refreshing series to read and I highly recommend them. I would give 4.5 stars if I could, enjoy😊
this was a great book to help me see that it is never to late to find happiness no matter what place you find yourself. There are people that will help you find your way back to living a good life, if you just reach out to others for help when you need a friend to give you courage to face your problems.
As always Linda Barrett wrote with passion and heartfelt intensity. I owe her more reviews but had to keep on reading. Her books have been a wonderful experience. Thank you Linda Barrett.

Well, well here we are again. What can I say, this series has got me wanting even more.Struggles are some times hard to over come. This story as in the other books, are loving people that stand together
A devastating loss for a young woman with a young son, didn’t have a chance to burrow down and grieve forever when there was a neighbor who.cared that she live a full life.
Third in the Sea View House series. This is the story of widowed musician Alison and former Boston Red Sox player Mike. Alison has a toddler, Joey, and the two of them fall for neighbor Mike.
This conclusion to a short series was very well done. Linda helps the reader have empathy for her characters while bringing in some humour. A very enjoyable read.
story line good got a bit confusing for a while .I felt that it was repeating itself.l felt that it was not the best as I was reading it I felt that I already had known how it was going to end
This is my third book by Ms Barrett, and I devoured it as I did the first two in this Sea View House series. I love the way she draws her characters and how the storyline develops. The characters are believable and very likeable. There are no whiny, indecisive people here...just people who are coping with big issues in their lives. That is true for all the people in all three books.
I am so happy I stumbled upon these books. I throughly enjoyed them. Coming from a small town myself I related to Pilgrim Cove. Everyone does know your business, but that sense of belonging with people that care about you helps you overcome any obstacle life throws at you.
I usually don't go for a series but, I absolutely love this series. Easy lazy afternoon read that sucks you in & makes you grieve and cheer for the characters.
I read the first Sea View house novel and was hooked. Linda writes stories that are real and wonderful! Have read all 7 books about Pilgrim Cove and wish there were more! I highly recommend her books!!!
