Well researched often brutal stories of women's past, told with perhaps a little too much sentimentality and romance for the past. I've always heard of friendship quilts (Kirsten girlies rise up) but never connected that the women who made them in the 1830s and 40s at the height of the trend would be so affected by the Civil War. Great attention to the fabric and fiber contents of the quilts and quilting processes.
