Career opportunities in forensic science. (2008). New York: Ferguson.

Citation By: Kristie Hofelich Ennis

Type of Resource: Bibliography

Call Number: HV8073.E34 2008

Content/Scope: An annotated bibliography of sources that detail various careers in forensic science, this source would help boost circulation for students in the medical magnet that are interested in pursuing careers in this field. The program has classes that feature forensic science and many students do research on these careers at this time.

Accuracy/Authority/Bias: Ferguson/Infobase Publishing is a well-known company that only publishes learning resources for education and libraries specifically. They have been in business in some form for over 70 years. Susan Echaore-McDavid, the editor of this text, has been writing in this field for 28 years.

Arrangement & Presentation: 80+ different careers in forensic science are presented in this text. There are also extensive appendices that include education and training resources, certification program listings, related professional associations, etc. The careers are organized alphabetically for ease of reader use.

Relation to Similar Works: There are other career guidebooks, but none that are bibliographic that have such an extensive list of resources to guide further study.

Accessibility/Diversity: This is a higher level text and would not be as accessible to younger high school students as it would be to those seeking certification in a medical science field.

Cost: $17
