A number of the rounds are noted in keys that are challenging for recorder. More thought should have been given to this. There are some old tunes from a variety of international locales, but also some pieces (2 by Marshall Barron and 3 by Pat Shaw) that are newly composed filler, which is astounding considering that there are only 13 rounds in the entire book. It's also disappointing that the bland illustrations take up so much room (sometimes a page and a half for a little half page tune).

Overall, this book is a pamphlet with delusions of grandeur, a disappointment given the names of Langstaff and McElderry/Atheneum.
