Part Three: Ways to Say Goodbye

When Mitchell shocked Hannah with his decision, it seemed that happiness might be just around the corner; but, as usual, fate steps in to snatch it from under Hannah’s nose. Instead of the bliss she was promised, problems are now flying at her so fast it’s hard to know what to deal with first. There’s the appearance of a mystery car that seems to be stalking her every move. Then there’s sister, Gina, torn between hunky young farmer, Ross, and giving her cheating husband a second chance to save their family. Most worrying of all, Mitchell’s memory is finally back but if Hannah had thought this would be a good thing, she soon discovers nothing could be further than the truth.

What will this all mean for Hannah? She deserves a happy ending, but right now it seems horribly far away...

Tilly Tennant was born in Dorset, the oldest of four children, but now lives in Staffordshire with a family of her own. After years of dismal and disastrous jobs, including paper plate stacking, shop girl, newspaper promotions and waitressing (she never could carry a bowl of soup without spilling a bit), she decided to indulge her passion for the written word by embarking on a degree in English and creative writing, graduating in 2009 with first class honours. She wrote her first novel in 2007 during her first summer break at university and has not stopped writing since. She also works as a freelance fiction editor, and considers herself very lucky that this enables her to read many wonderful books before the rest of the world gets them.

Tilly is represented by the wonderful, gorgeous Peta Nightingale at LAW.

Things have certainly escalated now!

Tilly finally reveals what happened on Christmas Day with the return of Mitchell's memory. But how will it affect Hannah's fledgling relationship with him? And what is ex-wife Martine hiding? On top of that, a mysterious Volvo seems to be following Hannah everywhere, and Gina's relationship with farmboy stud, Ross gets ever more complicated.

This was my favourite Once Upon A Winter instalment yet. Tilly has packed so much intrigue, romance and catastrophe into the book. A quick warning: as soon as you start reading it, you won't be able to stop!!

Ways to Say Goodbye is part three of Tilly's Once Upon a Winter series. It picks up where part 2 finished.

What I really enjoyed in this part is seeing Mitchell and Hannah together, their chemistry is great.

Mitchell finally remembers everything and what he actually remembers is shocking and vhanges everything. There is another mystery added though. Who is that mysterious person in a Volvo creeping around Hannah's house and ither parts of Millrise.

Gina's realationship also plays an important role in this part and it seems to get more complicated, especially because if his parents and her daughter Jess.

I really love the way the story developed in this part of the book. Tilly's writing is very engaging and gripping. The twists and turns she includes are exciting and they make you want to know more. The characters are just great to follow around. Can't wait to find out what the forth part has in store for us.

Book 3 of a 4 part book series. Note to readers, you can either read this as a 4 part book series or there is a full length novel which includes all of the 4 parts.

I’m happy to say that part 3 has been much more enjoyable than part 2 was, story is definitely enjoyable and entertaining. Lots going on. There are two main characters being Hannah and Gina, but it has definitely been Gina story that I’ve enjoyed the most.

Going straight into part 4, the last part, can’t wait to see how it all ends.

Review

AAAAAAAARGH! This is LITERALLY how excited I was about reviewing and best of all, READING, this short yet perfectly enchanting novella. After the BIG, MASSIVE, HUMONGOUS cliff-hanger at the end of the previous novella 'I'm Not in Love', I was off the edge of my seat and rolling on the floor throwing a MASSIVE tantrum to get my greedy bookworm hands on this little priceless thing! And the blurb didn't seem to make it any better! It only heightened the suspense and made me completely DEVOUR this thing for breakfast!
In the beginning Hannah tries to fight everything between her and Mitchel and makes an attempt to move on by going on a blind date – at least until Mitchell's memory returns and he realises that breaking his marriage with Martine was a bad thing or he finalises his divorce with her. She still holds fast but is more hesitant to but up such a strong front and more lenient to anything that could happen between Mitchell and her. But then Mitchell remembers everything in one spontaneous and disastrous moment that changes everything for Hannah...
I loved the increase of emotional drama and tension in this novella. It seemed to highlight the strongest of the story's features. The writing style was beautiful and elegant. I really enjoyed the simplistic yet lovely storytelling that captivated me from book one. It is written in third person past tense which I highly enjoyed.
Sometimes it felt as if there was a lull in the storytelling and I was growing uncharmed by some of the characters. I started to dislike some of them and had trouble understanding their motives sometimes. Take Gina, Hannah's older sister, for example. She was nearing her fifties and she was hooking up with a guy in his thirties, Ross. I started to experience a shock settling in. I also had started to understand why her relationship with Ross may be considered taboo. Small dislikes had started to creep in, but overall this was still a TOTALLY satisfying book in the end.
Congratulations to Tilly Tennant on publishing the THIRD novella in her charming series!

Rating Plan
1 star : Strongly did not like the book, writing and plot was bad. Idea of the book was against my liking.
2 star : Didn't like it, didn't find it interesting or gripping. Seemed to drag on to me.
3 star : An average book. Wasn't bad or good. Everything else was well done. Original idea.
4 star : Like a 3 star but has potential to it as a series or the book grew on me as it progressed and certain scenes captured me. I Enjoyed it and read it in one sitting.
5 star : I LOVED IT! I stayed up late until 3 am. Author is a genius, characters, plot, idea, development, EVERYTHING was EXCELLENT. Nothing else can possibly be said except that its 5 STAR!

Tilly Tennant's ONCE UPON A WINTER series continues with WAYS TO SAY GOODBYE, in which the protagonist, Hannah Meadows's life gets a tad complicated than before. With the introduction of a new character, a mystery car, Mitchell regaining memories and a yet another cliffhanger ending, WAYS TO SAY GOODBYE becomes the most interesting book so far (in the OUAW series).

I'm thoroughly enjoying this chick lit series. The second book, I'M NOT IN LOVE had a dramatic ending, which made me keen on perusing the next book straight away. I was glued to the pages, curious to know how Hannah would react to Mitchell's action. Instead, I was introduced to Chris, with whom Hannah goes on a blind date. It was a shame, though, that I couldn't find more about Chris; which I would have definitely liked as he turned out to be a likable character.

WAYS TO SAY GOODBYE certainly has more intriguing moments than the previous two books. From Mitchell's regaining consciousness to the appearance of a mystery car to Gina's husband to Martine's secrets to Mitchell and Hannah's romance to Ross getting beaten up. I was flipping pages as quickly as I could, brimming with curiosity to know how things would pan out and couldn't put it down until I reached the last page. I love the books which keep me on the edge of the seat and this book is certainly one of them.

I highly recommend the series if you love chick lit novels. Tilly Tennant's eloquent writing and the intriguing plot will indubitably give the bookworms a joyful reading experience. I can't wait to read ONE STARRY NIGHT, which is the final installment of this series.

Review - apologies again for it being short and sweet but these are short stories and I don't want to give the story away!

I'm really enjoying this series from Tilly Tennant. Ways To Say Goodbye is the 3rd book in the Once Upon A Winter stories and as with the 1st book, I absolutely flew through this one - granted being a novella it is shorter than a full novel but I still think an hour is good - especially for me. Tilly is a fabulous story teller and I really feel like I know the characters and the area in which the story is set.

In this section there is everything I've come to love from Hannah and her sister Gina except there are a lot more twists and turns than I was expecting. Without giving too much away, every time Hannah feels like something is going right, something goes wrong!
There is a fair bit going on in this book too - Hannah and Mitchell sort of get their act together but not before his memory comes back and he darts off to Martine, Gina and Jess come to blows over moving back to Millrise.. the mystery car - just who is this?!?! I NEED to know!!
The biggest twist in this section of the story for me came right at the end and all I shall say is it involves Ross and the hospital.... I'm off to delve into the last part RIGHT NOW!!

The Once Upon A Winter series by Tilly Tennant consists of four novellas...The Accidental Guest, I'm Not In Love, Ways to Say Goodbye and One Starry Night. This is an amazing four-part novella series, one definitely worth reading.

In this third installment, the story continues with Hannah and Gina. Hannah now knows Tom is actually Mitchell, a man she fell for that just happens to have a wife, and a man that also lost his memory in the accident. Mitchell is not happy in his marriage, and wants a relationship with Hannah. As we all know, nothing ever goes as planned.

Gina is torn between her feelings for Ross, a man a lot younger than she is, and giving her husband another chance in order to keep the family together. Gina wants to follow her heart, but also wants to keep her family together.

The story continues with even more twists to the plot. It left me wanting to see how the story plays out for these two sisters, as well as wondering if they will get their happy ending finally. I would highly recommend this novella and the entire series.

I was given a digital copy of this book from Lawsome Books and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is book #3 in Tilly Tennant's four-novella-part series, Once Upon a Winter.
So far the last two books have left me wanting more, and this does not disappoint. We are back with Hannah after Mitchell told Hannah his decision to leave his wife and be with her. Just when we think things could finally work out for these two , fate steps in to snatch it from underneath Hannah. All seemed to good to be true and the problems start. There is an appearance of a mystery car that seems to be stalking her every move. And watching her house (I have an idea who it is) Then there is Gina, Hannah's sister who wants to be with hunky farmer Ross, but is now having second thoughts and thinks about giving her cheating husband a second chance so jess, their daughter would have her family complete again. Mitchell’s memory finally comes back and it is revealed finally what happend to him over Christmas. With his Ex wife Martine, hiding something, this leaves us with a remarkable cliff hanger.
I love all the characters in this and it is written in such a way that it leaves you wanting more. Tilly fitted so much into this part, i read it in one sitting as i just could not put it down.
Some say it is frustrating having this in four parts, but i think it adds to the suspence and makes me want to read the next installment even more. Roll on book #4.

This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free for a Blog Tour in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Thank you to JB for letting me take part in this tour.  As you probably know I really enjoy Tilly's writing so I just had to be part of the tour.

This is the third book in this series and just as things seemed to be picking up for Hannah they take a turn for the worst. We see how Hannah reacts to Mitchell's confession at the end of the second book.

We also see how Gina and Ross's story develops. I really liked Gina and Ross as a couple but the course of true love never does run smoothly.

There's also a mystery car that seems to be stalking Hannah's house. I guess who this was a little before it was revealed. I was screaming at the characters to realise who it was.

This book ends on a cliffhanger so I couldn't wait to get started on the last part of this story.

[ I received this book free from the publisher through NetGalley. I thank them for their generousity. In exchange, I was simply asked to write an honest review, and post it. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255 “Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising]

Gina cocked an eyebrow and Hannah couldn’t help but laugh. ‘We Meadows girls always did give our hearts too easily,’ she said with a wry smile. ‘We can blame our parents for that. We had to get love from somewhere and it certainly wasn’t coming from either of them.’ ‘It’s a miracle we’ve turned out so well-rounded.’

This is the third installent in the Hannah Meadows' story, where we get beyond the wishing and hoping part to the physical aspects of new relationships- both for Gina and Hannah. The sisters new beaus both come with baggage, as do both girls. Wrap that all up with someone in a dark car watching the house....and you can hardly wait to read part 4.

I was given this book as part of a book tour. In this book, we continue the story of Hannah and Mitchell, with a little bit of Gina and Jess thrown in for good measure. The book starts by revealing Hannah's reaction to the cliff-hanging event at the end of the last book. There's a new aspect of mystery in this story, as a black car keeps parking across the street from Hannah's house, with the driver still inside, as if someone is watching her. We finally found out what happened to Mitchell on Christmas that left him wandering around in the snow.

Meanwhile, Gina and Jess begin making plans to move to Hannah's town. As Gina and Ross's relationship progresses, she worries what his family will think about his "older woman." A second mystery event occurs at the end of this book that could change everything and leaves us on yet another cliff hanger. I thought this particular book was the most engaging one yet and it is the one I read most quickly. I feel very invested in these characters now and can't wait to see how it all ends!

So this is the third in the series by Tilly .. we pick up where we left off.

Can Hannah finally find some happiness, Gina is torn between Ross and her ex, Jenna is a typical moody teen who resents her mother making the decisions. And Mitchell regains his memory. Add in a mystery car which appears to be stalking Hannah and you have the basis for this part.

A novella which is thoroughly entertaining. It’s amazing how much can be squeezed into a short book. I really want Hannah and Mitchell to work things out and have a HEA but everything seems to conspire against Hannah. Things are really beginning to heat up and the idyllic Christmas scenario has faded into the past and reality is dawning.

This one ends on a critical cliff hangar and I need to jump straight into the next instalment in a desperate bid to reach a conclusion. Excellent writing as usual from this author, I highly recommend.

Thanks to Tilly and Brook Cottage Books for the opportunity to read this in exchange for my honest opinion.

This is the third part in a four part series and I have really enjoyed this series so far.

Mitchell (I still can’t get used to him being called that!) has left his wife Martine and wants to make a go of it with Hannah, but she doesn’t want to be known as a marriage wrecker so agrees to go on a date with property developer Chris!

Meanwhile Hannah’s sister Gina is still trying to persuade her daughter Jess that it is the right thing to move to the same village as Hannah, but Jess is trying to put a dampener on things, mainly by trying to make excuses and move in with her Dad. This leads to very serious consequences involving Gina’s secret boyfriend Ross.

Hannah is put on edge by a mysterious black car that keeps parking up near her cottage, which leads her to put up CCTV in a bid to find out who it is!

Things really start hotting up in this part of the book which only leaves part four to iron things out…………

I received this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Book 3 in the series and Tilly continues to develop the plot. The twists and turns that are hitting in this book had my heart in my throat. The characters continue to develop and there is more tension, angst, passion and understandings.

Hannah and Mitchell work through her guilt and his return of memories. Then Hannah has her own issues with Martine.

Gina is having a difficult time with Jess and the move. Jess is having a problem with Ross but not a real problem one. It's on that she has envisioned because she doesn't want to move.
Gina and Ross' relation is gathering steam and I have my fingers crossed.

And how I love Hannah's sweet neighbor George and Trixie.

Tilly Tennant did a great job continuing the story keeping the reader engaged and waiting for the next installment.

I'll readily admit to not really being a series reader, but this story does work quite well broken up into smaller chunks - just the right length (if you read at my speed, anyway...) to take you through a leisurely lunch break. Reviewing this one's difficult - you DO need to have read the two that come before, and there's one more to come. But I'll say again that Tilly has a lovely easy-to-read style, with really well done and realistic dialogue, and a talent for drawing likeable characters in situations you can clearly visualise. This part introduces more complications, umpteen unexpected twists and turns, the path of true love not running smoothly for anyone - and yes, another cliff hanger at the end! Looking forward to reading the final part over the weekend for final review next Tuesday.

Hannah has decided to go on a date even if she is beginning to realize she has feelings for Mitchell. After all, he is a married man and she doesn't need that drama!
Keeping secrets about Gina and Ross is stressful enough, especially with Hannah's blossoming friendship with Ross's mother.

What is the universe pulling, when Hannah discovers her date knows Mitchell?
And offers Gina a deal on a beautiful house in a great location?
Then Mitchell says his marriage is over?
More complications to poor Hannah trying to be a good person.

If you love stories about small towns like Cabot Cove or series like Aunt Dimity, ot cozies featuring sisters, and the gossip and teasing and support they offer each other, you will enjoy this series if you read it in order.

I did receive this book in exchange for review.

Mitchell has made a decision about his future but is this a good thing, and when he finally gets his memory back and remembers why he was out the night of the accident will everything turn out all right?

Gina meanwhile is blissfully happy with Ross but will the soon to be ex husband put a spanner in the works?

Meanwhile who does the black volvo belong to that seems to be stalking Hannah and keeps hiding down the lane outside her house should she be worried about it

A great third part to the story keeping you in suspense for the final chapters but a lovely warm story with great characters

Hannah is surprised when Mitchell decides to become part of her life. Hannah must decide if it is what is best for her, and for him and if now is the right time.
Gina is not sure what she wants to do with her life. She likes Ross, the son of Hannah's neighbor but is unsure whether to continue the relationship or try to . reconcile with her ex.
Both ladies must decide what they want to do with their lives.
After you read book three, you will want to definitely continue with book number 4.
I received a free copy of this book in return for my honest opinion.

This was the third of the four parts that make up the new book Once Upon a Winter by Tilly Tennant. This is the best of the parts that I have read so far and I’m really enjoying the plot and where the story is going. I love the relationship between Hannah and Gina and its really held the book together well with their two stories inter-lapping. I’m really looking forward to the final part and to see how the story ends.
