This book covers A and AS level syllabuses for design and technology. It should also prove useful to first year college, polytechnic and university students following degree courses in engineering and industrial design. It aims to provide a practical guide to designing and presents the scientific principles and technical information essential at this level. It covers all the elements of design, technology and engineering in one book and is suitable for students with no previous experience of the subject as well as those who have studied CDT for GCSE (assumes a knowledge of mathematics and science at GCSE level). Practical aspects of designing with worked examples such as those encountered in examinations, show how the concepts are applied to numerical problems and this, together with the 350 assignments, most of the examination questions, and design briefs set by the examining boards, give students an opportunity to gain the experience and expertise necessary for examination requirements. It is suitable for Oxford, London, Cambridge, AEB, and JMB examinations.
