This was in a bundle so keep in mind that a solo copy might be a different edition than what I read. I say that because in the first part of the book it just seemed like there were chunks missing. However, they were missing in such a way that I didn't know if it was a writing/pacing issue or if something had gone haywire in formatting and deleted stuff. Because there were definitely formatting errors that were distracting when it came to flow and transitions. There were also typos typical of works sans editor, but they weren't too egregious all things considered.
So why doesn't this get one star from me? Because there was potential in the writing, things smoothed out as the story progressed, and I am a SUCKER for a conspiracy. I think it comes from being an early eighties baby. I would hesitantly recommend this author. hesitant because the editing and formatting errors are likely to REALLY aggravate my friends, but the potential could also appeal. The story could have been a solid three stars without the formatting/editing issues.

I received this book as an ACR for an honest review. This is a stand alone book with a HEA. Finn Jennings had it all a career in the military, a wife who loves him and the life he wanted. Then it all was taken away when the government found out he was a shifter. Adeline was raised in the military and growing up started to notice solders disappearing. When she heard Finn's story she had to find him. Now they are on the run together. This story takes you on an adventure. I recommend to all shifter lovers.

Good Storyline

This book had a good underlying storyline and a sweet romance. It was well written with virtually no grammatical errors. My only problem was it had way too much internal dialogue. This caused the pace of the book to be very slow. I was 25% through the book before I even found out why Adeline had been attacked in the woods, which was the opening scene. But, once you get through half the book, the pace does pick up.

A tale with a different twist, this book will have you on the edge from page one until the end. After being on the run for over two years, Finn finds himself in a situation that is about to change his life. While in the woods, he hears the screams of a woman, one who it would appear is being beaten by a couple of thugs. So what is a decent shifter supposed to do….save her of course. Adeline has always known she’s “special”. Her thirst to know “why”, never seems to be quenched. And, as a reporter, she appears to be even more of a hound dog, so to speak. On an unofficial lead, she knows she’s close to finding Finn when she’s grabbed and carted off to the middle of the woods by a couple of thugs. When Finn comes to her rescue, she knows she’s hit the jackpot.
Packed full of action with lots of heat between Finn and Adeline, this tale will keep you on your toes. Great read with just the right amount of spice.

I enjoyed the book. Sometimes it didn't transition smoothly and seemed too fast paced, but it is a cool plot and I do enjoy the authors writing style.

But there is also someone else after them - a branch of the Government who has been secretly on their tail; for them, Jennings has become a liability and Adeline is merely collateral damage. But Adeline has a rare gift, a power which is as magical to Jennings as his shifting is to her and it is this that finally comes to their aid when they are faced with the unforeseen. This was quite an engaging and interesting shifter story that was enjoyable to read. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I received an ARC of this book with the promise to provide an honest review. This book played out like the TV show Beauty and the Beast. Finn, a wolf shifter and a high ranking navy officer, was kicked out of the military for being a shifter. And that's not all; the government wanted him dead.
Adeline, a reporter, proved to be a thorn in the government's side by getting to close to the truth of many disappearing solders. Adeline and Finn were an unlikely combination trying to find out truths.
I gave this book three stars because the ending seemed forced and rushed. This book really could have been a spin off of Beauty and the Beast.

It was OK.

For me, this book was hard to read. I do not like dialogue so broken up with the characters thoughts. There was so much thinking going on that I lost the conversations many times. Even the action was broken up by too much thinking. There were also times when I had no idea who was talking and whose point of view I was reading. I think the story has potential but to me the end was not believable.

Unfortunately I couldn't get into this story. I got to 51% and gave up...which is a rarity for me.
The storyline was jumpy and weak and seemed to drag on and on. When the f/m leads declared their love after literally only days of meeting each other, (this is almost during his continuous dreams of his love for his late wife...who'd only been gone a year.)...it was too much. Not good.

Intriguing and entertaining

What a very new and novice concept in this well written self-contained story. I reporter whooped for a wolf shifter to find the truth. The shifter who had lost everything only to find something else. And the two of them find I g out the truth together. Lots of bumps in the road along the way. Very entertaining to read.

When you think about what happens to the best of us when we don't have a rhyme or reason as to what happens out side of hopefully there's a answer out there. Great read. Will be checking out this authors other stories.

Hunted and Falling in love

A past that haunts or hunts a man while a woman who wants to know more about him comes into his life. The story is excellent and is entertaining that is why it is a 4/5.

Enjoyable

This has a pretty good storyline. It's could use a bit of development and the characters could use it also. However it was easy to fill in the character background which was missing in the book. I enjoyed the book.
