“Anybody but Annie Page!”

Newspaper publisher Nick Kimball needed a society columnist; Annie had the necessary contacts. But he didn't like her any more than he'd liked her late husband, Robert.

According to Nick, Annie was a "phony-baloney Lady Bountiful." He offered her the job, convinced she'd turn it down. After all, society snobs didn't work for money.

But Annie accepted because of the money. She was so determined to protect Robert's reputation as the perfect husband and provider that she'd take a job from anyone--even Robert's sworn enemy. What she didn't foresee was enjoying the job--or falling in love with Nick.
