This book was a great introduction to the Oregon Trail. We read this as part of TruthQuest History (2nd grade). Although books with a narrative are by far our favorite way to learn history, this wasn’t as dry as a textbook and introduced facts in an interesting way. My 8 year old wore her pioneer bonnet during the reading of this, and was so intrigued by pioneer life, she requested I buy her and her sister pioneer girl costumes (which I already did - thank you, Amazon!). I’m excited to delve into more living books on this subject.
