I am awaiting this from the library.
Reviews make this sound fascinating, even tho at first glance seems odd - a rescued eagle, a married couple, and the love and trust between the eagle and the woman.
The couple sound like dedicated bird-whisperers, but alas Susan the eagle chooses one and soundly rejects & distrusts the other of the couple. Maybe she has learned to mistrust men in general?
Susan eventually shows her love by laying eggs right ino the hands of the human she trusts.
Sounds like a sweet (non-sexual, non-creepy) love story.
