“All it takes is one small voice to make a difference.”
When Bug Martin, caretaker of the Children of the Alliance, finally knows the truth regarding her boyfriend Tobias Keogh, and has him back in her life again, she wants nothing more than to keep him there…if only things were that easy.
The only assurance that Tobias desires in return is for there to be no more lies between them, and for Bug to make a special effort to stay out of trouble.
This, however, proves to be problematic as trouble seems to find her at every turn, especially with the specter of Mathias Martin lurking around South Haven and Rene Billadeau putting pressure on her to attend the Alliance meeting; regardless of the danger it poses to Tobias.
While trying to acclimate herself once more into the world of witches and familiars, Bug soon realizes that she has a lot to learn—that first and foremost being the ability to recognize who her true enemies are.
When lives are left hanging in the balance and Bug is challenged by a myriad of choices, will she rise up to do what she knows is right? Will she put her faith in the unlikeliest of heroes to protect the ones she loves or will she fall to the control of the New Order, placing her future with Tobias in jeopardy?
When it seemed like I was only an F away from flunking out of the sixth grade, a retired schoolteacher took me under her wing. After some tutoring and testing, she informed my parents that the reason I was having trouble in school wasn’t that I was dumb but instead dyslexic. When my stepfather heard this, he decided to take me to a used bookstore with the belief that the best way to improve my reading skills was to read. Some of the books were hard to get through at first, but with his encouragement, I refused to give up. We made many trips to that bookstore, and I especially loved the science fiction and fantasy sections. Then one day, after complaining about the ending of a particular book, my stepfather told me that if I didn’t like the books that I had been reading, then to write one myself—so I did.
My first attempt resulted in a horribly written western when I was fourteen, staring a cocky gun-slinging cowboy by the name Curt Calhoun. Curt along with his seven brothers, who all shared C names in common, may never have seen the pages of a book, but that was the day I started writing, and never stopped.

**Thread is the final book in the Children Of The Alliance trilogy. If you haven’t Bug or Spun the first two books in this series...you will need to read those first.**
**This was my 2nd time reading this series.**
**5 Stars**
What a way to finish up this series!!
I was feeling really sad that this series was ending...but then at the end there was a note saying that the author is thinking about doing another series (Sons Of The Order) based off of this series. Yay!! There are so many characters in this book that I loved and that I’d like to learn more about.
I've never read anything quite like this series....I don't know how she comes up with all her unique characters and stories....she has a very vivid imagination and does an excellent job of depicting it.
I’m a huge Shawn Reilly fan! I've read everything she has ever published and will continue to do so. I look forward to reading more from this talented Indie author.
Excellent ending! I'm excited that you are thinking of doing Sons of the Order as I feel like there is unfinished business with Artum. I'd also like to see Molly come back into the picture. :) Thank you for all of your hard work!
I loved this series, from the first word to the last and the very nice surprise at the end. Loved the characters, the story line and the new outlook on witches and familiars. Well done Shawn, can't wait for more!
