About the author

Sally Odgers was born in Tasmania in the 1950s, went to school there in the 1960s, married there in the 1970s, and had her children there in the 1980s. Her first book was published in 1977.

Four and a half stars!

Manga-style with a bonus: the first few pages actually explains some simple technical aspects of how to read manga. Wide eyes, exaggerated expressions, different artistic devices: it's a great extra.

This is such a great storyline I'd like to see it as an ordinary novel. The Arkies land on a planet that's hot, hot, hot. Their enemies, Earthnet, have tracked them there and followed them down - without taking precautions.

The Arkies encounter the planetary didgies (indigenous lifeform) - cute lizard-like Firespinners. But Earthnet are closing in...
