After fifteen years in the Idaho State Penitentiary, Jeremy Aldridge walks out of prison with the knowledge and skills that made his dad a legend in the gang wars within the system and the driving force behind Moroad Motorcycle Club. Outside of the Cyclone fence, Jeremy reaches for the familiar…Lola, the lifers, his Harley.
But, the one woman he owns and expected to find waiting for him has pulled away from Moroad. He discovers Tiff running the biggest illegal business Federal has ever seen, and her time is up. She belongs to him, and he’ll risk everything to keep her.
Stop loving him.
Tiff’s mantra since losing Jeremy falls to the wayside when he walks into Silver Girls and claims she still belongs to him. At one time, Jeremy was her whole world despite her tendencies to test him at every turn with petty fights, temper tantrums, and jealousy.
The man who returned from prison no longer plays games. Bigger, stronger, smarter, scarier, Jeremy’s presence threatens her business, resurrects old insecurities, and has the ability to destroy her.
(This is the final book in the series and can be read as a standalone)
Debra Kayn is published by Grand Central Publishing, Simon & Schuster Publishing, Carina Press - Harlequin Enterprises Limited, and repped by FinePrint Literary Management. A member of RWA and a multi-bestseller, she always has another book coming soon.
Believing everyone deserves to love and be loved, she takes the most unlikely characters and turns them into heroes and heroines.
She lives with her family in the Bitterroot Mountains of beautiful North Idaho where she enjoys the outdoors, the four seasons, and the wild animals that gather in her yard.
Debra Kayn brilliantly made us fall in love with the less than perfect MC convicts. Starting with Cam in “Wrapped Around Him”. We've all seen how Jeremy grew up and loved the lost teenage boy who was seeking approval and acceptance.
Fifteen years in a penitentiary is harsh and times doesn’t stop for anyone. Life changes, the world you once knew revolves, people grow and move on. All that's left is adapting, change. Gosh I loved this story but on so many levels hated the actions and inaction's of the characters. Heartbreaking rage burst at the surface because I couldn’t reconcile the emotions, a true testament of the author!
I’d love nothing more to go into descriptive detail and point out specially what I was struggling with. But that would be cheating and possibly ruining the story for you, so I’ll leave you with this. Chasing Down Changes, measures up with the rest in the series. A five star guaranteed read, recommended for those who have been following the series. If by chance you’d like more details or have questions, reply back using spoilers. Happy reading... enjoy!
I am going to tell you the God’s honest truth – I go into every Debra Kayn prepared to not like it. Yep, even though I am a big fan, I go in preparing to hate it. I prepare myself that it is not going to be as good as or even better than the last one. I psych myself out that is going to be THE ONE that lets me down. How sad is that? In this book world, where every author can publish a book and do so without putting in the time to write a quality book, they forsake quality over quantity. I would rather wait for a well written book (however long that may be) then for a rushed disappointing book. My favorite saying is: “All that can, shouldn’t.” I am pretty sure that is going to be one of my tattoo’s after my favorite quote from Falling for Crazy: “Truth is what you believe, not what you see.” So, I said all that to say this: Debra Kayn OUTDID herself in Chasing Down Changes. When we last left Jeremy he was going to prison for 15 years. Debra Kayn not only aged him with perfection, but also all the characters we have come to know and love in Moroad without missing a beat. I feel I need to explain my perfection comment because it is not that Jeremy is the perfect character, but the changes in him were articulate and done in a way that was perfect for him. Make no mistake, nothing in Moroad is perfect. A 15 year time hop does not change that. All these characters are perfectly flawed. This book continues the wild ride that is Moroad. Jeremy is not a kid anymore. He is a grown man who knows what he wants and does not do anything without looking at the bigger picture. With this book, you need to open your mind and think of the bigger picture. It is so much more than it seems. The plot twists and turns in this book are planned out and executed flawlessly as only Debra Kayn can do. The saying the apple does not fall far from the tree perfectly explains the dynamic that is Jeremy. While this is the longest book in the Moroad series, I looked up from 91% and was like W-T-F it can’t end! I can’t say anything else without adding spoilers. All the characters involved in this book broke my heart. I had a very visceral reaction to this book. I literally felt like Debra Kayn punched me in the throat. It brought up feelings and emotions that I thought were long since buried. It made me think of how when you go through something you can’t see the bigger picture. Sometimes you are too wrapped up in your own pain to see anything beyond what you are feeling. Do you ever think that maybe if you did look to the bigger picture how things might of turned out? How different my life might be if I could’ve seen beyond my own pain. This book makes you think and feel more then you thought possible. So, yeah, that’s my review. Whether you read this book as a standalone or the last in the series, you will not be disappointed. I will leave you with one more little thought to bide your time till release day: Everything you thought you knew about Cam before will be blown out of the water in this book. I am my father’s son is only breaking the surface of who Jeremy is. You’re Welcome!
Have you ever gone skydiving? I know, I know...WHAT could skydiving POSSIBLY have to do with this book. Nothing. I has nothing to do with the plot what so ever (Wait...is that considered a spoiler?). I asked that question because if you HAVE gone skydiving than you would know that feeling you had when you approached the open door and were about to barrel head first to earth. That is the EXACT feeling I got when I received a message that Jeremy's book was waiting on my kindle. That feeling stayed with me for a few chapters.
Its no big secret that I have been both anticipating and dreading this book. Dread? How can you DREAD this book!? Calm down, I'm getting there. I anticipated this like everyone else that read FALLING FOR CRAZY (because...well if you read it, you'd know. If you haven't? Please do.) I dreaded it for the simple fact that it is the end of the proverbial road for the Moroad MC...Don't worry, they don't disappear, it's just the end of the series. END OF THE SERIES.
Are you tired of my crazy rambling? Want me to get to the nitty gritty details? Ok, here goes.
Just kidding, you wont find details, but I will leave you with some thoughts: Take all the answers you conjured up in your head and toss them out the nearest window. I'd bet good money that you will be wrong. I know I was for the most part and I am fairly good at figuring things out. You will carry questions and you will get the answers. What happened to Tiff? Whats the real deal with Lola and who the hell is Marci?? What did a 15 year stretch do to our sweet Jeremy? Is he really his fathers son? He is so much more than just his fathers son.
This is my confession: CHASING DOWN CHANGES is the very epitome of what every end of a series should be. Its left me with an odd sense of calmness. I don't dread leaving the Moroad MC behind so much anymore. Now that is writing magic and it seems that Debra Kayn has a pocket full of it.
PS: If you think that the Moroad series pushed the envelope of the usual stars and hearts romance...brace yourself. The new series will knock you straight on your tail feathers.
Have you ever read a series that was so good that you feel like you are grieving when you finish the last book in the series? Well that is how I felt after reading Jeremy's story and knowing that a group of characters who pulled me into their lives would not be coming back. According to the author, some of the characters will reappear in the new spin off series but not with a focus on the Moroad MC and their dramatic lives. We started this journey back with Cam's story in . The Moroad crew is not your usual motorcycle club. They are hardened criminals who are living life both inside and outside of prison. They are hard men on the outside and love their women deeply. Each character in this series will wring so many emotions from you. We have followed Jeremy since he entered the scene in book one at age 16. You will want to hate his father, Cam, at times. Jeremy returns home after a 15 year stint in prison and immediately resumes his relationship with his first love, Tiffany. The author takes you on a roller coaster ride and at times you hate Jeremy but finally you understand his motivations. What seems to be a villain turns out not to be so. The author's writing is brilliant and keeps you wondering what is going to happen next, who is going to be redeemed and who will turn out to be the bad guy. I can honestly say, after reading the whole series, this book did not end like I thought it would. However, it ended well and again I was sad to say goodbye to the wonderful cast of the Moroad crew.
My Review of Chasing down Changes by Debra Kayn My Rating 5 Stars
I was so excited to read Jeremy’s story and after I finished I must say I had to marinate for a couple days to be able to write this review. Jeremy has lived a very hard life, not really knowing who he belongs to or his place in this life. Being Cams son, he begins his adult life filling Cams shoes, by doing time…15 years to be exact. Building his new life behind bars. Tiff, decided to build her own life and it’s nothing that Jeremy expected from her because her plans were always different. When Jeremy is released, and reunited with Tiff everything turns upside down. Lola is still in the picture and Tiff is angry and jealous of this woman even with Jeremy telling her he is “not” with Lola. The grit is real in this story and there are times where I really didn’t like Jeremy and could have slapped Tiff, mixed emotions for me. The twists and turns in this book had me going “WTF Really!” Without giving any spoilers in this story all I can say is…I didn’t see that coming! This was the perfect ending to the Moroads Series, Can’t wait for what’s next! ***ARC kindly provided by Author in exchange for an honest Review*** **Reviewed for Hellmouth’s Bookblog & Review**
Just finished my arc. Full review to come. I will say this. I'm always weary about reading a book that takes place "years and years" later because I like to keep the memories I have of all the characters as they were. Debra did a good job when it came to "aging" all involved.
This book is the last installment of the Moroad MC series. Chasing Down Changes is appropriately titled. A lot has changed since we last saw our band of merry hoodlums. Let’s have a peek shall we.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Jeremy Aldridge has spent the last fifteen years locked up in prison. Jeremy has been using this time to secure Moroad’s domination in the penal system against the other gangs that constantly threaten to wipe Moroad out. Jeremy changed from that fresh faced kid he was when he walked into the prison. He is now harder, stronger, tougher and deadlier – he has become his father’s son. He is the Cam Farrell we would have seen forty years earlier. When Jeremy walks out of the cyclone fence, there are two things on his mind, the target on his back and seeing his kryptonite, Tiffany Carter.
Fifteen years ago, Jeremy Aldridge had claimed Tiffany Carter as his property. With this declaration came protection from Moroad and money from Jeremy. Tiff wanted neither. The only goals she had were to get a good paying job and move away from Federal, away from Jeremy and Moroad. Only one of those things happened. She is a self-made woman. She is no longer the girl Jeremy left behind. She too has grown, matured and built walls around her heart so no one can hurt her again. Life is good for Tiff. She loves her job and is happy with her place in society. Until she remembers the date, the day Jeremy is released from prison.
While reading Chasing Down Changes, we get to see many of our beloved Moroad members. Cam plays a major role in this last book as the president of Moroad and as Jeremy’s father. Christina drops in with attitude and advice for Tiff. Lola has always been there for Jeremy. Waiting for him to return, ready to hold him close when the world closes in on him. To love Jeremy as only Lola can. Merk is still on the border of Jeremy’s life, knowing him and Jeremy will never have the camaraderie they once shared. Jacko does a drive by or two, being, well, just Jacko. The regulars are also around, Bear, Katie, Johnson and Gunner. We also get to visit with some of members of Bantorus MC. The majority of the time though, we watch Jeremy as he deals with being Cam Farrell’s son, as he grows into his position with Moroad, and him coming to terms with his and Tiff’s relationship, the dangers surrounding them, the love that has never died between them.
Upon completion of Chasing Down Changes, I felt at peace with the end. Debra was able to wrap up this series the way we expected her to do. She still throws a couple twists and revelations that we did not see coming. A couple of a ha! moments and a forehead smack here and there. A few secrets were finally revealed to us. (Thank goodness!) On a personal note though, Debra did something that I did not think was possible, but she pulled it off, she made me like Cam. Darn it! I did not want to, I have held on to that dislike through five books! I had the right to despise Cam! He is everything that I find revolting in a man. He is harsh, cruel and controlling! I had come to terms with who he was in book three. I understood his actions were necessary for the club’s survival, to help Christina regain her confidence, and to make her stronger. However at the end of this book, Cam has earned my respect through his actions and his words. Debra allowed us to see yet another side to this very complexed man. So I guess you can say I too have grown into my role with Moroad. I accept and respect the man Cam Farrell. Yeah, Yeah -go ahead- whoop it up Debra! You earned that patch!
Above all though, Debra brought closure to the series in typical Debra Kayn fashion – Utter PERFECTION.
I look forward to the new series Debra has in the works. It looks to be fun and refreshing! Thank you Debra for keeping it real!
A história me surpreendeu e me fisgou do início ao fim. Temos cenas bem intensas entre os heróis e fiquei curiosa sobre as mulheres que trabalham para Tiff. Recomendo a leitura! -------------- Jeremy spends 15 years incarcerated and from within the prison and during this time Jeremy will eliminating his enemies and settling his power over the years. Not just surviving in jail but also proving to be his father's son. He aims to become the leader of the Moroa motorcycle club. Tiff has spent the past 15 years trying to forget Jeremy and move on forward. He left her for Lola and not communicated with her during the time he was arrested. At least that's what she thinks. When Jeremy is free from prison he is back with everything to retrieve not only the position at the club but the woman he claims as his. The story surprised me and got me hooked from start to finish. We have really intense scenes between the heroes and I was curious about the women who work for Tiff. I recommend reading!
Pretty good series, sad to see it end but glad that the author didn't feel the need to write like thirty books before deciding to put an end to it. Despite there being so many characters in Moroad, she took the most important and interesting ones and gave them their stories.
Jeremy certainly did come out a grown and changed man from prison, but being locked up for fifteen years will do that to you I guess. Tiff, I want to say that I liked her character, that she changed and matured in fifteen years but she really didn't. She was still the same annoying, immature, clingy, pain in the ass little girl Jeremy dated before getting incarcerated who still throws temper tantrums in her damn thirties! She talks a big game but still fell into line and still did everything Jeremy told her to do. She never came correct with her decisions, especially with the whole Lola thing, you think/assume he's fucking Lola, throw a tantrum but don't stick to your decision, five minutes later your on knees in front him or screwing his ass on the nearest flat surface...really? So if you aren't over him, stop playing games and just be with him, you are a grown woman, throwing those tantrums just makes you look weak and not to mention stupid as hell. So, no I didn't like her character at all, she was a fucking moron trapped in an adult body.
Jeremy was definitely his father's son...not sure if that's a good, bad or just plain sad thing...
What an amazing ride author Debra Kayn has taken readers on with her Moroad series! These books are not your traditional fun-loving, lighthearted romance stories with the typical heroes and heroines. I admit this is what I'm accustomed to and she knows it. Right from the beginning she took us on a completely different journey with her very complex, flawed characters and made us think. She really does a terrific job with that, let me tell you. The series began with Cam, President of Moroad MC and throughout all the books, we saw his son Jeremy wanting to fit in and become a Moroad member. I've been wanting Jeremy's story since the series first began and the day has finally arrived for Chasing Down Changes, the final book of the series. Things have changed quite a bit since we last saw the gang, Jeremy has served 15 years in prison and finally coming home. There were twists and turns as revelations came to light. Jeremy has grown into a man to be reckoned with and he will do anything to protect what belongs to him...his club, his family and his woman. Thanks Debra for getting me out of my comfort zone and enriching my reading world. You continue to amaze me with your compelling storytelling and fascinating characters. This series finale set up your new series perfectly and I cannot wait to see what you have in store for us.
Well, this may just be my favourite book in the Moroad MC series. Don't get me wrong, they're all good and I particularly loved Jacko's story but this was a bit like a tale coming full circle.
Without giving away any spoilers to the previous five books, let's just say that although 15 years have passed and a lot has changed, a lot also remains the same. The club is thriving and most of the favourite characters are there to peek in on.
But in truth, this is Jeremy's story - who we met way back in book #1. It's a story of growth, love and loss. It's about learning to trust and depend on others but also about second chances.
Can Jeremy adapt to the outside world or is he destined to be looking over his shoulder permanently?
Jeremy has grown into a bearded man - he is no longer the young boy we grew to love. He's grown! And along with that comes an alpha personality and that special something that raises goosebumps along your arm as you turn the page.
I've thoroughly enjoyed this series and I'm genuinely excited to get my claws into the next series - closely related but definitely different and Maddison is the perfect place to start!
*I was given an author's copy for an honest review.
I am heartbroken...I have read every book in the Moroad Series. And Chasing Down Changes is the last book in this series. And I couldn't have even imagined the way it would ended.
From the very beginning of this series, it appeared to be about a motorcycle club and the control one man demanded. But it has turned into so much more. Family - the most unconventional kind. This is truly a story of a father and a son; of a boy turning into a man; of a woman caught between the boy she once loved and the man he's become; and the loss of innocence that can never be given back - it's the story of unconditional love and trust and respect.
Chasing Down Changes is one of Debra Kayn's best works. Complete with twists and turns, she'll keep you guessing until the end. Debra doesn't shy away from the complicated personalities of Jeremy, Cal, Tiff, and Lola.
Bravo, Debra Kayn, Bravo!!! I don't want to see this series end, but it gave me the closure that I needed.
I love to hate him and hate to love him right about now I cannot get over Jeremy at all., the way he is acts, loves, hates, and is all around a changed man. Reading this story from cover to cover once I really got started I just knew their was no end for me at all. Debra is this amazing author that take the cake when writing about MC romance, it's like nothing I have ever read before ever. This amazing story is a MUST READ, grab a copy and read it till the end hell it only took me 1 day to read this even after telling myself I need to slow down I just couldn't I had to read it. 2 person POV story that is unremarkable!!! Debra knows how to right the tough and the love were it mixes into one amazing and wonderful story.
What a fantastic way to end the Moroad MC Series! I couldn't wait to read Jeremy's story. Knowing that he's coming out of prison following in his daddy's footsteps. Knowing that he won't be that same boy who got taken away as part of that same daddy's plan for him to take over. Knowing that the woman he loves hasn't been the same since he left. I was dying to read his story knowing this was the finale of the series. Debra didn't disappoint and totally surpassed what I imagined. Jeremy was badass and all about claiming his woman. That and claiming his dad's club. I loved every bit of his story and I am super excited for what Debra has in store with her new series.
I loved this series, but was surprised that there were editing issues. Debra's books usually are spot on. Cam was said to be sitting next to Lola by the campfire when it was actually Jeremy. Also instead of unanimous for Jeremy's vote as president, the word anonymous was used. I know to some people it's not a big deal but I found it to be distracting.
Somehow this book just wasn't what I was expecting but it sure set up for the Red Light Girls. I am happy that Tiff and Jeremy finally got their HEA.
I had a lot of 'WTF?' moments while reading this. Tiff's mood swings gave me whiplash and I didn't feel any sort of connection beyond sex between Jeremy and Tiff.
Decent book to end a series ive really enjoyed. My only gripe, and its a big one, is the anticlimatic conclusion to lola. Too neat, tidy and cowardly on the authors part. Wasnt expecting it to go down that way and cant help feeling ripped off by author. Lola & jeremys storyline has evolved in the periphery of series and i was lead to believe, like tiff & everyone else, that they were fwb. Auth bailed on that. Of course, im still a fan and look forward to her new series.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I enjoyed Jeremy's story. Seeing him take the reigns of Moroad from Cam brought this series full circle. He and Tiff fit well together, but the whole big reveal about Lola fell flat to me. Otherwise I enjoyed it.
I really enjoyed the book. I would've liked more about how Tiff and Jeremy's love blossomed. They are a favorite couple of mines. Christina got on my nerve as well as Lola. Overall a good read.
SPOILER... *I tell you that 2 characters verbally disagree* that's it :)
I waited a long time to read this book even though I loved the characters. 15 years is a loooong a$$ time to be honest and I had a hard time connecting to that idea. But I still day dream about Christina and Cam.
Although I loved this book a couple things annoyed me 1. No action- dangerous things ALMOST happened a few times but nothing ever really came of it. No intense moments like that.
2. Also at one point, although I get the lives of the club members are different, the whole give up your hopes and dreams to devote your life to his happiness schpeal was a bit on the brainwashing side (I love dominant no bars held males, at some points it was actually wonky) but I will also say that ultimately he respected her and made it clear. She was able to keep her independence but it came off .. well off.
He held her hands several times, just so sweetly. With such tenderness, like he could crush her world but chose to protect it instead. That's how I see them. And she needed that kind of all out love. Well she definitely got it 🤣
Okay but also Christina's little tantrum... what the fudge dude. Totally ridiculous! Thats a hard oof for me. Christinas rant sounds like she drank the cool aid. It also just didn't feel right with her character. Yes she was devoted to csm in every single aspect by the end but to say those things to Tiff was f%$@ed up.
Truly enjoyed this book and love the series! It really pushes your boundaries and makes you try to understand from a different lifestyle/perspective/world. I will day it may not be for everyone but I really did like it :)
One of my favorite authors totally disappoints with this one. Ridiculous storyline and and clarifying info stupidly withheld by ML (who was nowhere near the man his father is). NO to this one - and the typos! Did DK write this or an assistant? Just not the usual interesting book and my eyes are still rolling over the FL's ability to start a basically illegal bordello with no real funds.
This was an excellent conclusion to this gritty series! Jeremy and Tiff have been together since their teen years until Jeremy gets sent up to serve hard time. There's all kinds of drama with sexy scenes too.
3.75⭐️ Wasn’t feelin this book. I loved Jeremy in the previous books but I felt like he was Cam with just a bit more feeling. He was such a cunning and shrewd character from the very beginning. In the end he became who he was meant to be. Btw...Still don’t like Tiff.
How to become President of the Moroad MC. Jeremy was the son of Cam, the current president of the notorious Moroads MC. The successor would have to prove he had what it took to lead this group of criminals. Evidently one of the criteria’s was to kill someone and Jeremy did just that on more than one occasion.
Jeremy had a tough life growing up with an addict mom and a dad that wasn’t in the picture. He had met Tiff in high school and she was the only thing that he wanted after she took that ride on his bike with him. Tiff and a tough life too and Jeremy was there for her helping her through everything that she had to deal with at home. She was bound and determined to go to college and make something of herself. Life has a way of throwing curve balls though and at the age of 20 Jeremy was sent to the state pen not for the 18 months that Tiff thought he would be gone but for 15 long years. Jeremy went from a boy to a strong, calculating man that did what it took to get him through those 15 years and to stake his claim as the next Moroad MC President. He made the Moroads an unbreakable force both in the pen and out. During his time in he never heard or seen Tiff and was told that she had moved on. Well, that just doesn’t happen in the mc life; once his property, always his property.
Tiff did move on after Jeremy was sent up to the Pen only because she thought that he had staked his claim on Lola and left her out in the cold. This meant that the MC did nothing to help Tiff out when Jeremy was in. Her heart was shattered. Jeremy was everything to Tiff and besides losing him to the Pen, she lost him to Lola. Of course on his release from the Pen Jeremy’s father, Cam made sure that when Tiff got to see Jeremy it was in his bedroom with Lola. If her heart could break anymore it would have. Cam thought that Tiff was wrong for Jeremy because he knew how important Tiff really was to Jeremy. While Jeremy was gone Tiff didn’t go to college as she had wanted instead she began not one but two businesses. She owned and ran Red Light which was a brothel and Silver Girls which was a strip joint both located in the same building. This place was policed by both the Moroads and the Bontorus MC which came together because both MC’s had women who worked here. Tiff worked hard to have this and wasn’t about to let anyone take this from her. Every time that Jeremy and Tiff started to trust one another again and find what they had before after all the lies that were told to keep them apart, Lola would come in to the picture. Jeremy made known that no matter what Lola would always be important to him. And he kept telling Tiff that no he was not “with” Lola, only with her.
This was the first time reading this author and I will definitely check out her other books now because this was a gritty, dirty, MC book which left you wanting for more. Was Jeremy able to hold on to Tiff and become the next President? A women in the MC life was to take orders and was considered property, would the now indepedent Tiff be able to handle that? And what hold did Lola have on Jeremy and would he be willing to give her up for Tiff? This is a book that will keep you up until 3 a.m. because it’s that damn good!
