If you are doing military service research this book should be read. I read it from cover to cover and gained immense knowledge. Very good book to assist the genealogy researcher in skip-tracing his military relatives. Useful in requesting service records of veterans. I usually request such records using FOIA via the military or the social security admin. List of social security offices is dated but otherwise excellent, and I really mean excellent, book.
