Planting Shade Trees

Rate this book
The best shade trees you'll ever plant...Are the ones you'll never sit under!
None of us are self-made. We're all sitting under "shade trees" that were planted by our forefathers, by our families, and by our friends. Now, it's your turn to leave a meaningful legacy by planting your own shade trees for others to sit under.

Not everyone can be a legend, but everyone can leave a legacy.

The concepts in this book are great! I really had a hard time reading though because he kept referring to himself in the third person, it really took away from some of the book in my opinion. Overall a good process to consider in your own life.

I enjoyed this book. It was very quick and easy to read. Even though it has a lighthearted tone, he has some great things to say.

Not my style of writing (folksy, familiar), but the message is important. However, it could have been summed up in a single chapter, rather than a full book.

Definitely more conversational than most books. It could have been shorter with the same amount of content, but all in all, an easy and encouraging read.

The book is easy reading but very meaningful. The Swan shares an excellent message about how we all benefit from "shade trees" others have planted and the reasons we should be planting "shade trees" for those who follow after us. We never know the full extent of our legacy while we are alive just as those who came before us don't know how their lives have touched ours. May it always be our intent that the legacy we leave will be for the betterment of others.
