Beautiful heiress Alexa Manchester, the hero of Daco’s outstanding new novel ELECTROMANCER, wants to use her late father’s brilliant invention to solve an energy crisis that has crippled the planet. But then a mysterious crime boss known only as Momo sabotages the invention and threatens to destroy the world. The only one who can stop Momo in his pursuit of world domination is Electromancer, whose superpowers include the ability to harness electricity and to fly at the speed of light. In her quest to save the world, Electromancer has some help from the mysterious superhero known as Blue Arrow. Sparks fly between these two larger-than-life characters. Meanwhile, as Alexa struggles to realize her father’s dream in the face of catastrophe, she’s wooed by the handsome up-and-coming politician Bobby Baumgartner and assisted by her sexy chauffeur, Sigfred Sawyer.

The sometimes dark, sometimes laugh-out-loud, and always highly charged ELECTROMANCER will appeal to fans of different genres, including romance, thriller, humor, fantasy, paranormal, and classic comics. Highly recommended!

I received this book from the author in return for a fair and honest review.
I thoroughly enjoyed this campy and witty story. It reminded me of watching those Saturday morning cartoons as a kid and yes, some of it was over the top, but it was and enjoyable ride all the same. I hope to see more of Electromancer and Blue Arrow in the future!!

I am always up for a good superhero story. It calls to the geek in me I guess. I don't even mind if they are a bit overly cheesy or corny, as long as we are getting the wink, wink, nudge, nudge from the author/director. After all most superheroes are over the top, bigger than life, caricatures of archetypes. Shouldn't we expect their stories to be the same? When I saw this book, I just knew I had to give it a shot before even reading the blurb.

The book is mostly set in Britannia, but also reference two cities called The Big Apple and The City of Angels. Needless to say, I think we can all figure out where the cities are in this parallel universe. Due to the inclusion of Britannia, we gain that wonderful dry sense of humor that can showcase such emotional self-restraint. When that stiff upper lip is juxtaposed against powers that are affected via strong emotions, you can feel and see the struggle the characters are going through.

There were a few surprises and twists in the book. Obviously certain characters were more than they seemed, but some characters I thought would be bad guys, turned out to be good guys after all. The action read pretty well, and though there were POVs from several characters, never too many that you couldn't keep track of who's head you were in. This being a superhero story, meant that suspension of believe started with page 1. But the author never went too far out, and stayed true to the feel of the book. I had a good time with this, and in the end I finished with a smile. 3 Stars.

Thanks to Bewitching Book Tours and Daco for the opportunity to read and review the book.

I have to admit that when I opened this book, I was preoccupied daily so I was going to give up. For the last two days I was determined to read this. No ifs, ands or buts. I can honestly say.....I really enjoyed it.

Daco is a new author to me. I enjoyed how the story grabbed you in from the very beginning. I felt like I was watching a cartoon series brought to life, like The Flash. This was fun, and kept my interest. I actually felt a pull in my chest for the comic books of old. Great storyline and solid. Surprises galore, so add mystery and suspense. Every story has to have some romance. Don't worry. It's in there. Like the days when a kiss was full of zaps, booms and wows! *sigh*

You meet the heroine, Alexa Manchester. A lady of fortune trying to carry on her father's legacy for a noble cause. She is engaged to Mayor Baumgartner. More of a marriage to boost his political status but not love from either participants. Sigfred, Alexa's most trusted friend and man servant. Gladys, the keeper of the house, substitute mother and another of Alexa's confidants. The book has a lot of characters with funny names which is a joy. Each name fit the person's persona. All the way down to the twins.lol!

The synopsis glazes over what is in the book, but you have to read it to really enjoy and understand the story. I do suggest you grab some cookies, glass of milk, maybe chips or portrays and get in the bed, under the covers with your flashlight. Chuckling, gasps and smiles are sure to come. BAP! POW! CRASH! Oh, and ZzzAaaPppp!

Relax and let that child of old surface to enjoy Electromancer. We all need a hero to save the day!

I’m not very big on either science fiction-type fantasy or super-heroes so it’s odd that I chose this book. I think I was trying to stretch my reading repertoire by trying something different.

There isn’t really anything not to like about Alexa. The character is a good female lead. She is strong and self-reliant, and thanks to an accident with a meteoric element called electromite, she suddenly finds herself with electrifying super powers. In typical super-hero fashion, she adapts quite quickly to her new powers – although changing back to plain old Alexa always leaves her naked. (I still haven’t figured out what happened to the clothes she was wearing before she changed to her superhero persona.)

I enjoyed the comic book names with their alliterations – Della Dowdy, Conroy Corn, Zachary Zero. While Electromancer was an enjoyable book, and I can completely imagine it as a campy super hero movie (along the lines of the ’60’s Batman TV show), sci-fi and super heroes still aren’t my reading genre of choice. However, the book is well-written and shows a great imagination for all things camp so I have to give it a thumbs up.

One of the best and most amusing stories I have read.

I gave this a 5star rating even though it did not hit one of my 2 criteria . (I love books and movies that make me both laugh and cry). The story line was well executed. The characters were varied and fun. This is the first time I have read anything by this author and will definitely trying more. I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.

Alexa Manchester touches her father's invention and Poof! superhero powers. When arch villain, Momo, sets out to destroy the world it's up to Alexa and her new-found powers to save the day. Action, laughs, and sparks ensue.

This campy, fun read is well written and just plain cool. For anyone who loves old Batman shows or Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, or is looking for a fun romp, this story is a blast.

This is the first book I have read by Daco. Electromancer is entertaining read that reminded me of the Saturday morning cartoons or the graphic novels that my son is so crazy about. I found the storyline and characters to be well developed and written. Now if you like graphic novels or anything along this line this is the one for you.

This is a weird and wonderful comic strip novel of the highest order. It’s funny, sexy and full of romance and super hero antics, that had me in stitches more than once. Loved the lead character Alexa, and the situations she gets into. It would make a great film.

A different kind of story for me than I usually read. It is more like a comic or in that area. It was interesting and good. I enjoyed it and recommend it. Especially if you like that kind of story. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
