Some Sunny Day

Rate this book
You may wonder what happened to the Greek gods after the fall of Olympus. This mystery is revealed and others are explored in this novella. Myth, dream, and devotion are woven into a connected stream of short narratives — some tragic, some poignant, some touching, and some uncertain — together forming a death diary, threaded through ten centuries of memories. Each new voice that follows adds clues to the wraith's grasp of her journey and its genesis, then animates the journey's probabilities for the future.

I’d previously read this in small sections, but wanted to read the whole book in one sitting - something I’d highly recommend because of the threads running through the varied narratives. If you’re interested in the concepts of life after death, reincarnation, the journey of the soul through passages of time, this book is a real treasure to explore. The narrator’s journey travels back through various lives, male and female, starting in the early 21st century, back through different past lives to 1280 before we meet her again as Vanessa in 2024 in a future memory state. This time she meets a woman from a different time in the future. This book is sensitive, fun and designed to make you think! I loved the little everyday threads that ran through multiple lives.

A new form of literature for me, personally, but a really good one. An advisable read for all bookworms!
