I’ve always loved garden birds, well birds of any description really. There’s nothing more joyful and uplifting than the sound of birdsong.

‘Collins Life-Size Birds’ is a photographic celebration of Britain and northern Europe’s richly varied birdlife. The photographs are beautifully detailed, doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or an experienced birdwatcher, should appeal to all.

Not a book to carry around, it’s far too weighty for that, but makes the perfect coffee table book.
