Winter is my favorite time of year so I was really looking forward to reading and learning from this book, but the truth is it is very hard just to get through the first few chapters, the guy is king of the cliche's making one back cliche after another through the few chapters I could manage. He also was stroking his own ego the entire time. I saw nothign new that I did not already know, though I admit I could not finish it because of the writing "style" if you can call it style at all. I am only 4 or 5 years into photography but most of what I saw in the book was just basic logic, like wear a extra layer in Winter weather and keep batteries inside you coat and be sure to wear a warm hat as you lose most of your body heat through your head. Just really basic stuff. I am going to try to make another push through the book because it is November 2024 but I just don't know if I can deal with this guy.

As I’m getting ready for a long COVID-19 winter in the northern hemisphere I thought I’d read this book in order to learn some new photography techniques. I managed to plow through this poorly organized book in record time as there was little new to read and what there was was illustrated by a serious of badly composed photos.

Thank heavens for public libraries which stop us from having to buy books like this.
