(Piano/Vocal/Guitar Artist Songbook). While creating the perfect track listing for Bocelli's first-ever album of popular songs, Bocelli and his producers searched the musical eras from the 1920s to the 1980s for songs in Italian, Spanish and French. Bocelli also added some of his favorite international pop songs, including the Italian classics "L'Appuntamento" and "Quando M'Innamoro," the Latin American hit "Besame Mucho," and the French standard "Les Feuilles Mortes," which has become the much-loved English standard "Autumn Leaves." "Solamente Una Vez" (a hit as "You Belong to My Heart" for stars including Elvis Presley and Bing Crosby) and "Somos Novios" (famously an English-language hit as "It's Impossible" for Perry Como) are also highlights of the album. The end result is Bocelli's amazingly beautiful interpretation of classics made popular by legendary vocalists from Edith Piaf and Luis Miguel to Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. This folio includes all 14 tracks arranged for piano and voice with guitar chord frames.
Andrea Bocelli is an internationally acclaimed Italian tenor known for his exceptional voice and ability to bridge classical and popular music. Despite being born with congenital glaucoma and losing his sight completely at the age of twelve following a football accident, he pursued music with passion and determination. He began piano lessons at six and eventually learned multiple instruments, including the flute, saxophone, and guitar, among others. Initially studying law at the University of Pisa, Bocelli supported himself by performing in piano bars. His breakthrough came when his demo of “Miserere” caught the attention of both Zucchero Fornaciari and Luciano Pavarotti. This led to collaborations and a successful tour with Zucchero, followed by his win at the Sanremo Music Festival in 1994, which launched his professional singing career. Bocelli has since released numerous albums, many of which have achieved international success. His 1999 album Sacred Arias became the best-selling classical album by a solo artist, and in 2018, Sì debuted at number one in both the UK and US charts. Known for powerful duets such as “The Prayer” with Céline Dion, Bocelli has worked with a wide range of artists across genres, most recently releasing Duets (30th Anniversary) in 2024, celebrating his career with collaborations including Shania Twain and Karol G. In recognition of his achievements, Bocelli has received many honors, including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and the title of Grand Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. In addition to his musical career, he is also a philanthropist and an enthusiastic horseman. He founded the Teatro del Silenzio in his hometown of Lajatico, a venue where he performs annually. Bocelli was first married to Enrica Cenzatti, with whom he has two sons. He later married Veronica Berti, with whom he has a daughter. Through resilience, talent, and deep emotional expression, Andrea Bocelli has become one of the most beloved tenors in the world.
