An interesting delve into Tibetan Folklore, but ultimately repetitive. The translation and quality of the tales seems to have suffered because the stories were translated from sanskrit to tibetan, then back to sanskrit, then to german, and then to english. The translation to European languages by european minds seems to have been a major cause of this. Its an artifact of its time, but is very informative about ancient indian culture and parts of Buddhist history and thought.
