Delightfully illustrated, this miniature book, written in successive pages of verse, reminds us what a friend is and that being with a friend makes even the best times better.

The illustrations are absolutely charming and each one has a short comment within the picture that makes the image even more meaningful. For instance the frontispiece shows two little girls out walking their dog and the words are 'Life has no blessing like a good friend'. That's certainly true and we all need good friends. And this is followed up later by 'When the path you're on turns surprisingly rough ...' has the words 'That's what friends are for' within the picture.

And I rather like 'Leaves you alone if you just need a rest ... but never strays too far' with the little girl sunning herself in a garden chair having 'A little peace of quiet'. And we all need that on occasions!

It is a lovely book to add to a miniature collection and is there to read again when a reminder is needed of friends.

"All You Need Is a Friend." Easier said than done nowadays. What an ancient find in my room. It's a heartwarming message for me today, all the same.

I'm not sure where the title, "Thanks, I Need That" comes from, as the actual title of the book is "All You Need Is a Friend". Regardless, this is a great little book to give to your friends. I received this from my BF in High School and still treasure it.
