George and Lottie's mothers meet together at Lottie's house every Monday, and George is supposed to play quietly with her while the mums are busy. But their games always end with arguments and George demanding to go home, until the monster of all Mondays finally arrives ... Award-winning illustrator Susanna Gretz's appealing monsters will be loved by children of all ages.
This is a funny book and I think that adults can use a lot from it too! It is about two monsters that act like children and argue. Their parents fuss over them and take them home straight away. However, as soon as the parents start to ignore the children they learn to get along and don’t want to leave. The moral of this story is that parents need to leave children to experience these things for themselves and also that the children monsters should learn to treat each other as they wish to be treated!
I really enjoyed this book. It would be perfect to share with children if they are having arguments or disagreements to prove to them that they can set differences aside and get along.
Parents and teachers could learn from this as well as it shows them that if you leave children to their own devices they will sort themselves out. Children can also learn that they won’t always get attention from being naughty or attention seeking.
