Conor Fitzgerald was a broken man, a fact hidden from the casual observer. Outwardly, he was a true Dominant. After his wife died, he made it his mission to heal sexually broken women in a desperate attempt to do for them what he couldn't do for his wife. What he didn't realize was that through the simple act of helping others he was also helping himself. Deep emotional feeling was unlocked after years of holding it inside. Read this journey of discovery as Conor finally closes one chapter of his life so he can start a new one free from the guilt that held him emotionally trapped for years.

This is a fantastic emotional journey filled with love, sacrifice, and mystery, which will leave you satisfied well after turning the last page. The journey of Conor is one that many emotionally broken people have traveled. This author has once again captured the essence of the human soul and laid it out in a masterfully told tale of love, loss, and most importantly, healing. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes hot and heavy romance filled with self-discovery and emotional response.

I can't say that it had made my favorite list, cause i was cringing at some parts of the book. It was a little cheesy now and then. I was expecting more, especially after the reviews. The characters were okay and that's just how i see this book, okay.

Conor Fitzerald is a wealthy widower. He is driven to help women, using his dominance skills therapeutically, in an effort to assuage his guilt in being unable to help his wife -- so he now helps others. This book describes his relationships with four women.

Just that setup strongly differentiates this book from any standard BDSM Romance story arc. Which is quite refreshing. The book went place that I quite thoroughly was not expecting. Big kudos to the author for that.

Yes, the relationships start and end quite rapidly. This is, after all, a novella-length book with three full relationship arcs. The characters are well-drawn. I wish I could find out if and how the fourth relationship proceeds.

Devin O'Branagan is a complicated author. Just when you think you have her packed up in a nice neat little box, she comes up with something different. Just when most of her audience thought that supernatural thrillers was her limit, she comes out with erotica.

Just when they had accepted erotica, Devin came out with Dominance.

Dominance is... something else entirely.

I will be giving away no secrets when I say that Dominance is written in three parts. Three dramatically different, but equally powerful parts, each named after the three women that the lead character, Conor Fitzgerald, sets out to "save" from their very different problems.

The first part, Lily, is a haunting story of a love that could never - and should never be. The second, Eden, delves into Conor's dark side when he enters into a Master/slave contract with a woman. And the final act, Tess, is a powerful thriller where Conor's life, and those of his women are threatened.

Entertainingly written as always in her now-classic switching viewpoints, Devin combines passion, eroticism, romantic love and raw adventure with a serious edge. Dominance is a genuine page turner that pulls no punches with action both in and out of the bedroom.

A Satisfying Read

I started reading this book to get a feel for the characters because I was going to audition for the audio book version. I couldn't put it down. Many times BDSM Erotica is so predictable without any real storyline. Not so here.
Conor lost his wife after a brutal rape left her but a shell . After her suicide he vows to help other women that have been abused. Dominance tells the tale of the women he helped empower, maybe not quite in the conventional sense one might expect, but help none the less.
More than anything though, it is Conor's journey back and how he was able to find meaning in his life again.
Don't get me wrong. Plenty of hot erotica along the way! A five star read!
